The Dev wrote:Yeah, always on the run...don't really want to be though, would like to be calm, cool and collected.

As things start going again, I realize the old traits coming back. Sometimes I wonder if the higher levels of success elude me because of the way I handle pressure.

We'll soon see folks, we'll soon see. One can only try his hardest.

My intention is to get the band sounding great, get my gear sounding right, put out some good music, and hope that it all pays off. I enjoy creating and playing, so I hpe thats enough.

Sriously though, the industry is so predicated on people screwing each other that if you choose to stand up for yourself, you end up fighting all the time. I wonder if there's a few battles I should either 'retreat' from, or let destroy themselves because of my principals. I wonder if my principals are just unreasonable?

so to the universe: Guide me in a great direction, I'm doing everything I feel I can.

okay, lets start this day, hopefully yesterdays dramas solve themselves today.

Sounds like you have a great amount of faith. It will all work out dude...can't wait to see ya on tour! Buying my ticket today after work/school!!!

Good luck on the road Dev. Do remember to have fun. I think Ki is an amazing peace of work. It is vibrant with emotions and transistions like a slithering snake. I was not a big fan of addicted! I get the concept (I think?) I just do not have an emotional connection to that kind of music. It reminds me of someone having a fight with their boyfriend in public or some overexagerated soap opera. I am looking forward to deconstruct and seeing what you like and took away from heavy metal. Do your thing man! You effect more people than you probably realize with your work. People do care that you are still honest with yourself as an artist and so should you.

Do you know where they are now? See if you can track them down, maybe visit your old elementary or grammar school. Grill 'em, and grill 'em good. Then you can decide if they are unreasonable.

Appreciate you putting the work in to make the show tight, and I'm looking forward to the Sydney show. The Ziltoid stuff should be a blast... it's just not music I thought I'd ever hear live, so that in itself will be a big bonus.

I know this is a great chance to connect with the fans and perform your music, which is a pretty damned worthy end in itself. But as a non-musician I'm curious about the financial workings of touring... I've always wondered how much of it is a financial venture in terms of direct revenue-raising compared to how much of it is about PR (in a business sense) and the goodwill and connections made, to reward the fans and build a base of listeners.

I guess it varies from artist to artist and where they sit on the relentless wheel of business shit. But I hope that whatever your aims are, you achieve them. Bring on the show! :D

I always found the vice principals to be the jerks, with their ginger beards and their elbow padded coats and their bad attitudes.

The financial realities of being a musician my age can be a little grim sometimes. It comes in waves, when things are good, theyre quite good. When theyre grim, it's panic. The workload rarely changes though.

The principal touched me.

The whole professional artist thing always seemed like a bit of a high-wire act to me, so I can't help but admire the ability to ride it out. It's also no small inspiration to just see people doing what they love. Very cool. I guess at the gig I'll see the duck floating on the pond again, but I'll remember those legs that are constantly paddling beneath the surface!

Drummer on tour will be Ryan (Van Poederooyen). Musician line-up for Deconstruction is yet to be revealed.
