I need to comment this belief that people buy junk
and stuff they don't need.
I buy only stuff that my friends need, and for my partner
I buy stuff he can't afford on his own, or stuff he doesn't know he needs

Many of my friends have babies, so obviously they get
baby stuff, and for moms I usually get something
they can pamper themselves with.

And this fake tree vs. real tree thing
My parents are still vital, healthy and energetic enough
to get a real tree from a real forest.
My grandparents are old and grandpa is allergic to
real spruces, so they rely on the fake one.
But they put some money to the fake tree,
so the one they got is really the kinda tree you see in
Coca-cola's christmas ads, perfect tree! :D

Aaaaw, that's sooo nice!

I've decided to make my own list, 15 things that make Christmas
a happy time and how all of us, grumpy heavy metal heads can
enjoy it too :D

But now I'm at work and too much christmas buzzing going on
to get into such a big work :D

So, later d000000ds!

Im A Strapping Young Lad wrote:Anyway, Christmas blows in many ways, but it does bring family together and every else for that matter. It would be good if Christmas was everyday...aside from the crazy flashing lights, shitty trees and those awful carols which seriously need to be replaced with some decent power metal , then we wouldn't have to worry about people fighting and people would actually share and not be fat greedy bastards like they are every other day of the year.

Wise words.

I've always enjoyed christmas and it was just as enjoyable this year as it has been before. It is pretty 'phony' or 'fake' holiday but it's also one of the few times when it actually seems a good idea to go visit my relatives. After those five days I also remember how great it is to not have them hanging around all the time.

Yeah, Boxing Day was pretty spot on for me too. :D

Now though we're in that weird limbo period between Christmas and Hogmanay. This seems to require much sleeping late in the mornings and watching lots of movies late at night.

And my kids haven't really fought for days... this is just... well.. bliss! :D

And finally we've finished up the leftover Christmas dinner. Woohoo!

I love xmas, though it strains my financials somethin bad.
People keep sayin xmas is about family and it is. I go back home for xmas and jeebus knows I have some estranged relatives, but fuck em, we have smoked turkey so even if my hands start shaking, I get to play with the smoker, and eat pie. Mom's pie could end wars.

I love giving gifts, getting them is cool too. Though my family is full of jackasses,(Ive gotten no less than eight shot glasses with my name on it ), I still get awesome gifts from my kid brothers and sisters.
