Heard SYL a couple of years ago for the first time... life changing stuff! Been into electronic music for the last 20 years so that was a trip. Something happened in me!

I had to buy a cheap EPS guitar and try it out myself so a year ago i started my solo metal project "Let's head South". Set a goal to finish 4 songs before 2009 was over. I couldn't play guitar, I couldn't sing...
but tonight I finished the 4th song and uploaded to my space. I'm fucking proud!

Anyways, have a good day!

Dude, unbelievable that you accomplished so much in a year. Really inspirational!

Also I really like your sound, so I'll be picking your brain for production tips from now on, hope you don't mind ;).

Thank you Capillarian... really. Thanks for taking the time and listen to it. I feel very humble about actually pulling this "project " off so I'd be glad to help you if you have any questions. I'm a home-enthusiast so I don't use very expensive gear:) Any stuff you've made that I can listen to?

(also just uploaded my 5th song, just a few minutes ago)

Awesome, will go check that out in a bit! Yeah I'm more or less a home-enthusiast too.. Nothing for you to listen to yet except some frankly embarassing electronica so I'd rather not give you the link ;). I'm working on something new at the moment though!

What's your DAW of choice, and what kind of computer setup do you have going?

Computer: PC + Win XP. Core 2 Duo, 4GB RAM, it's pretty much a normal computer, nothing really fancy.
Audio Interface: M-Audio Delta 1010
Drums: "Drumkits from Hell"
Sequencer: Cubase
Mic: ADK A-51 (clean stuff and screaming) and Shure SM-48 (sometimes screaming sounds better with this)
Guitar: ESP LTD Viper-50. I plug this straight into the sound card. No DI-boxes or anything like that. I 've never heard any good reason for it... actually.
Bass guitar: Ibanez SDGR
Synth: Alesis Micron

(plus various plugins for emulating amp sounds)

Please tell me when you have something you feel you want to let anyone else listen to. I like hearing fellow musicians' work.

I must say though that vocals was the hardest part to get into...

I know what you mean. I've recorded both with this method and using an amp + mic combo, and there's a slight difference but nothing that I don't usually change with EQ'ing and effects anyway. I know a sound engineer would probably shoot me for saying that, though :D. I usually record vocals directly into the computer as well, though I may start using a pre-amp..

Hey yeah, of course I will! Thanks for showing interest. I'm working on something at the moment.. But if you want to waste some time, you can check out something I did a year ago, as an electro/industrial/ambient project.

Hi,

Sorry for getting back to you so late. I did listen to your stuff and then i forgot completely to comment on it.

I think your housy beats are hi-quality stuff. I've been into techno a lot so I'm familiar with the "sound" but i've never been able to create the typical house groove. I'm actually a bit jealous:) All your tracks on that myspace page is solid but personally I like Medley 2 better. Looking forward to hear more stuff from you!
