I think you are limiting natural selection to just fighting for survival. There are aspects of natural selection, like sexual selection etc, that most definately do apply to today.

You are absolutely right, I oversimplified.

And natural selection in the conventional sense still exists. Being able to eat a triple XXL big mac cheeseburger with bacon every day without your arteries exploding gives you a higher chance of surviving. So in a sense we're not fully adapted to our diet. I do see your point though, I just don't think natural selection is gone, it just favors different things.

Does it really? I mean even if you ate a triple XXL cheeseburger every day you'd still have plenty of time to reproduce before your dicks expiration date kicks in. But then again, our bodies would eventually adapt to that kind of diet and that could be count as evolution too I guess...
