Talk about whatever you want to here, but stay correct

This may be the wrong forum, but the other two seemed wrong. Feel free to move me if so.

ANYWAY! My problem.

I got a copy of Ableton Live 8, and a Novation Nio 2|4. I plugged my guitar into the Nio, put that into Ableton, set the drivers so that I'm using ASIO, (I downloaed ASIO4ALL) and...

Nothing. It is registering that I am getting signal in to the machine, but I am not getting any sound back out. I tried running a midi-signal through, to check if it was just an audio problem, but the midi isn't making any sound either (though still recieving signal)

As most of you know more about this than me, I humbly come to and grovel for halp pl0x.

You don't need ASIO4ALL for that since the Novation gizmo is a proper sound interface (you need ASIO4ALL only if you have some crap chip without hardware ASIO compatibility, like some cheap Realtek on-board sound controllers). You're probably setting the wrong device (ASIO4ALL instead of Novation thingie).

See, that was my concern. I have ASIO as the selected Driver, and then have the Novation as the device, but still no luck.

Maybe Ableton is confuzzled with all these devices - tried to uninstall ASIO4ALL and set devices in Ableton all over again?

Just a moment, I'll give it a try.

EDIT: Uninstalled it, but it didn't help. =/

K, at least inputs work. It must be something with outputs, maybe you have to pick another outputs in "outputs" tab in Ableton's configuration or check if they're unmuted in system's mixer. Or check if cables are properly connected :)

(I assume the track monitoring in Ableton is enabled of course).

Cables are all good, all outputs are selected (But neither work), no muting, recording is "armed", so I should hear it. Sadly, no sound.

On the plus side, I'm not the only person on the internet to have this problem. Sadly, others who have had this problem have said "Nevermind, fixed." but haven't said what they did. >_<

This happens because you touch yourself at night.

True fact.
