hehe...now it's almost getting cute. No one can know what gender anyone else is just by a screen name. As you can all see in my avatar, I'm a lovely looking girl. So let's just leave that topic here, makes no sense to dwell on it, lets get back on topic :)

I'm sorry for getting so heated.
Lets clear this up, I know Zyprexa is a she. This is a bitch on bitch tussle.

Avatar's and name's can be misleading, as Ephel has stated.

And Lars, with the amount of lollipops in your mouth...I wont contest your comment ;)

Wait.. back on topic :?
Keeker pointed out...
09 - Bashing bands, labels and magazines is funny perhaps, but this is hardly the board to do so. I even doubt there is one at all. So please refrain from starting topics about how you hate a band and put your energy in saying something positive. I personally have plenty of reasons to dislike some bands, but I will not ventilate this here.

Edit: In response to Zyprexa. I just don't take things like that in stride, that's me. I stand by what I said earlier. Maybe I am foolish and violent. I really don't care what you may have said later, you let it slip. And quite simply it made me mad.
As for bitch on bitch tussle, I'm sorry you took it seriously.
I'll leave it at that.

And if its a matter of taste...
Kings of Leon
Sigur Ros
R Kelly
Beyonce
Cradle of Filth

what can I say...I'm one talented girl :D

or....maybe not

there's several bands I don't like...or wouldn't even call bands. But I won't tell because you may not know them. Then you look them up and hate me because you looked them up.

Yeah, I'm actually a dude too.

Oh, and I wouldn't really say this is band bashing, asmuch as just stating out personal tastes.

What the hell? :sparrow:

Well, I have nothing to add to all that which won't make me sound like even MORE of a git.

So, back on topic and to balance out the whole rule 9 thing, I happen to be quite fond of some of the work of Dizzee Rascal (despite some of his stupid lyrics), Kings of Leon and Queens Of The Stone Age. I am a big admirer of Sigur Ros and The Beatles also, and the fact that some of you hate them is out-bloody-standing!

My "personal preferences" also preclude me from enjoying the works of Kid Rock, Nickelback, Hinder et al. I take no particular joy from the efforts of a certain Mr John Mayer. In addition, I cannot fathom what on Earth is going on with Andre Rieu, although I attribute this to the fact that I am under the age of 85.

Andre Rieu's popularity is because he puts all classical music 'greatest hits' to a fancy-dress party.

And Australian Pay TV loves using his concerts to fill space.... and he puts out a new DVD every five minutes.

Sounds like he's kinda in the genre of people who buy il divo or Michael Buble.

Like... I don't care if you like that kinda stuff, but people who stick their nose up because they are "cultured" kinda piss me off.

Michael Buble... cultured... oooookayyyy.

I don't like Meshuggah or Lamb of God or Mastodon.

Before you stone me to death, I actually do like the instrumental parts, just can't stand the vocals.

Maybe we should have a separate thread for 'Bands you would like if they got rid of their vocalist'...

to which list I would also add Cannibal Corpse, Arch Enemy and Dream Theater.

Hey, I worked at a record store for three years, I can tell you all kinds of stories about the clientèle in San Francisco who think their shit doesn't stink. This city's arrogance across all walks of life is kind of hilarious.

As far as bands I'd like if they changed/fired their vocalist?

I pretty much grew up on old school heavy metal and thrash and stuff, so most power metal bands if they had a proper more traditional metal singer would be right up my alley.

Billy, I agree 100% with Arch Enemy. I'll also add Between the Buried and Me.

I'd just really like it if Mastodon would take voice lessons, or let the drummer sing more, because apparently he's the only one who can actually sing live... you know while he's playing the hell out of the drums.

I could make a huge list of bands I'd like if they ditched their vocalists. Those last 3 are amongst them.

A law of music:

Drummers. Cannot. Sing.

Take a look at Phil Collins. He went off the drums and began to sing. Now, I want him 6 feet underground.

I actually agree with Octillus. Brann can sing and should be singing more than Brent. Troy doesn't sound bad live, but Brent is terrible!
