Funny this should come up in conversation as this week I've mostly been listening to Icelandic folktronica on the Bedroom community label, very abstract sound textures like Alva Noto via the glorious Raster Noton label and a pile of slabs of doom courtesy of Mourning Beloveth's amazing "A Murderous Circus" album. As for the Orb it has to be their heavy dub end that gets cranked up back at Carpathian Towers.

I can't imagine limiting myself to one genre or style of music - there's far too much good stuff out there.

Why the attitude? All I gave was an overtly positive opinion that there's loads of great music out there, especially this year as it's been a great one on many fronts, and you call bullshit on it?

This place is bizarre at times.

UVERworld - Hissei Satsuki Prologue (Live). Yes.

holy fuck, then they played Corona, and then I Am Riri. They played 3 of the four best non-singles from the album. All bands should be this cool.

NEVER MIND THEY PLAYED ALL 4!

Ha ha ha ha ha - genius

I know what it's like - get a few miles north of the Watford Gap and people expect you to eat straw and keep whippets while only listening to brass bands :D

Some nice filthy dubstep.

I recently opened my ears to some Dark DnB and Dubstep... makes a nice occasional contrast to the metalz.

Ooooooh, yes indeed!

Try the recent 'Vice EP' by Matta for some massive and incredibly grinding dubstep b'lines - "Echo Babylon" especially.

If you want some rattling & wild breaks then dig out "The Later After" by DJ Hidden. One of my albums of 2007 - really full on but still atmospheric and somehow beautiful.
