funny, i heard a few gathering songs like 8 years ago and have always been meaning to get more into them but never got around to it. a couple months ago i had a sudden urge to check out all their stuff since Anneke's gonna be on Addicted. They are really good, Mandylion & nighttime birds are incredible. if_then_else is really good too.

I saw The Gathering on their last US tour w/ Anneke a few years ago. She was amazing and one of the best live singers I have ever heard. Her voice has a lot of power and emotion to it and even more so live. The Gathering is my favorite band and I was very sad when she left. I really really really hope that Devin takes her out on tour with them next year or at least has Agua de Annique open. They don't have the popularity here like they do in Europe or Latin America for them to come here on their own. I would love to see her again live! I won a contest through her website last month to talk to her on the phone for a little bit and she is a very sweet person. We talked about Devin for a bit and she had nothing but great things to say.

Here is the live version of the my favorite song off their last album with her.

I never checked out The Gathering until I heard "Home", which really showcases Anneke's voice. I never really checked out the older stuff much TBH.

When I saw them live (twice) and Anneke sang that a capella part in the middle of Waking Hour... Goosebumps!

The Gathering is definitely good, but I've never got around to getting an album. I think now would be a good time, while waiting for Addicted release...

Does anyone know how to rip this into mp3 format? (universe in a ball)

Also, fucking great song, felt a bit disjointed though. Maybe just needs a couple more listens.

I tried to listen to the shitty online radio versions of Universe in a Ball and Addicted, but I just can't.

I need to wait till the CD shows up before I listen to anything but the teaser.

I'm hearing some Muse-esque keyboards in there

The chorus is amazing and saves an otherwise so-so track.

One thing we can feel for sure, Addicted is sounding as direct and straightforward as promised.

They got some secure player so you're not going to be able to rip it direct to MP3 without somehow recording it. Least not with the normal tools, someone may know a way around it - but whatever.

Anyway, I'm realy liking it. It's extremely different, after hearing the teaser I thought the songs would be rather predicable, but after hearing addicted and this, it seems like the songs go everywhere, which is awesome.
