Come on guys, you just CAN'T listen to the leaked online radio rip of "Addicted" because the audio quality is in fact so bad you can't hear half of the music that's meant to be there.

I can hear it just fine; it just seems watered down.

Listening to the garbage audio stream of it now.. brilliant despite its eq shortcomings, a modern Dev classic for the masses. Heard the new Rob Zombie last night and its a ***** joke compared to it.. I'm sticking with Lust in Space until I can hear Addicted in all its glory. wooooooooooooooooooooo

It's awesome! But i'm pretty sure there are a ton of details that really help define the general direction of addicted (the album) totally lost in compression - either that or that quiet synth base i heard is just just compression artifacts

and the solo really reminds me of older Vai stuff (before he got married to his whammy pedal :D ), with a devy twist, which is awesome!

Ryan, i can't tell because of the audio quality, but is there any electronic drumwork on the song, or is that all hihat work?

Wow last time I was here the thread was like at 175 or something now it's at 200+!!!! Good signs....

To answer your question Yanko, lots of loops are involved around my drum track, they're more electronic sounding than hi-hat though. I'm not sure of what part you're talking about. Regardless, the drum parts on the whole album vary from straight up 4 on the floor to complicated beats with loops in every song. Kind of a Rob Zombie comparison but with Devy's music instead, is the way I'd describe it. And NO.... it sounds nothing like Rob Zombie!!!! There's a bit of everything on this record BUT every song maintains a kick ass groove which is the important thing.

I'll never forget recording this album for so many reasons.... all good, a little stressful at times in a good way though... Hahaha. I'm very happy with my drum sound too. Dev has this magical way of suiting the drum sound to the type of record he's doing. My drum sound maintains RVP sounds (especially the kick sound) but still suits the record perfectly! Love it!

Great job Dev.... you rule bro!

Yes people, Dev has done it again... like I said before - this is one of his best albums out of ALL his solo stuff in my humble opinion. I'm loving it and can't wait for you all to hear the whole album in it's entirety. This is an albuum you can throw on at any time and it'll bring a smile to your face and is full of positive vibes. I just finished listening to it with my Sunday morning coffee and can't wipe the smile off my face! Enjoy the audio stream for now.... not long till you can enjoy the actual CD with all the quality that goes with it!

Thanks for the support guys, glad you're diggin' it.... you'll be even more blown away with the album as a whole!

Best,

RVP

PS.... 'Universe in a Ball' kicks me in the balls so hard every time! Must admit, it's the only time I've EVER enjoyed being kicked in the balls!!!

Thanks Ryan for the hard work. Reactions to the teaser are overwhelmingly positive, and I really hope this record brings you (and of course, Dev) some well-deserved respect and huge fucking amounts of money from the new fans I'm sure this record will bring to the fold.

On another note: some people on last.fm are saying that it leaked. Nobody can find it on the popular private trackers, so it's probably bs.

Last.fm is probably THE most unreliable source for leaks. XD You should've seen the shoutbox for Porcupine Tree about a month ago.
