I am not at the complete darkness zone, but close enough to be in the dark because of my work hours.
I work from 10am to 18pm, which is a bit annoying, because the sun sets (if you can see it through the thick clouds..)
at 4pm, which allows me to see some light time at morning when I wake up (at 8am).

And just that is enough to bring a certain attitude to your everyday life, but for me, since I love winter, it's not that bad.
I don't like darkness, I am afraid of it, but when we have snow on the ground and it's freezing cold, stars sparkling in the sky,
I feel like it's the best thing.

More I suffer fom fall depression, when it's _really_ pitch black here from 9pm and forward.
Even when I start to get up for work before 8, the sun is still rising.
So I miss all the light time of the day just being at work!
Luckily there are weekends, so I can enjoy some sunlight too.
Maybe that's why I am so crooked 8)

I went through a lot of work to get this, it's a daylight chart from Kuopio, Finland, beginning from 30.1.2010.
Image

Sunrise, sunset and time of light in the city of Kuopio
Sunrise (2009-12-30: 09:44) (Yellow line)
Sunset (2009-12-30: 14:39) (Red line)
Daylight (2009-12-30: 04:55) (Blue line)

On the left side (vertical) there's hours of the day and on horizontal line are the months of year.
Hope it's not too messy :D
And I really didn't answer the question either :D
