Just got back from uni to find the new AIC album waiting for me!!!!!

So, I'm giving that a good listen through before I did anything - so knowing the teaser could have been out their waiting to..well, tease me would've driven me insane.

At least I can have 2 epic joygasms in succession instead of 1 super-epic, loin destroying one.

I've been listening to Check My Brain on loop for about 3 hours now, I haven't listened to most of the other tracks at all yet

Oh man...Addicted teaser. I'm excited.

I think the new AiC is basically just a Jerry Cantrell solo record, and he really does need a more charismatic voice besides his own, to really bring the music to life. It sounds boring to me this way, unfortunately. I can't even listen to the whole album in one sitting, it just bores me to tears.

BUT, I don't really care, because I know Dev is gonna kill it with Addicted, and there's gonna be a teaser soon and I'm going to fucking love it.

Now, Dev, if only you could get to work on MY PERSONAL dream collaboration... with Lalo Schifrin! That would rule so fucking much!

But, I personally liked Jerry's solo stuff, and they have William Duvall doing vocals too (his stuff with Comes With The Fall is good too - like a Jeff Buckley meets RATM vibe).

There are parts where I feel the new record is a little overproduced, I don't think it's raw enough for AIC most of the time.

Still thoroughly enjoyed it, and they're still brilliant live.

Jerry Cantrell IS Alice In Chains. He's written most of their material since back in the day.
