Above and beyond the dtp 4 albums, I have a TON of material that I'm thinking of putting out in ep form once every 6 months or so...

The music becomes more of a vehicle to promote the show etc...

Addicted is the current thing, but I may do an ep of heavier stuff before the January tour, and before Deconstruction.

LOTS of music right now.

Are these EPS going to be in lieu of the proposed box set? are they somehow related to the 4 album concept or totally independent?

also, I don't know why people keep asking for teasers, i thought the youtube videos were better than what was for ki.

I think people are expecting it to be very good because Dev tends to put out good quality stuff...even if it's not to everyones taste...it's still good quality

Dev seems to think about things a lot...in regards to the music and taking care

That's what I thought too. We already have a good few mins of material, so I'm not THAT much in a need for teasers. Just waiting for the real deal now.

The Dev wrote:Wow!

q: Is it a little intimidating that folks already think this is the best record yet without having heard it?

A: ummm, maybe a little

q: Are you letting it get to you?

a: I've got shingles, I feel like my skins gonna fall off.

summary: I hope it lives up to the hype folks! I think it's great though so...who knows?

Dev, In all honesty, nothing you could do wouldn't live up to my expectations. And even if it didn't, who gives a fuck what I think? Not being a nuthugger or anything, but your music is unparalleled in my mind. Every album you do is your best.

Devin, I don´t think the hype would affect addicted, because even your album that I like the least, it´s still good! haha You told us it would be crazy and awesome, and so yes, I believe you man.

Honestly, I'm excited because the majority of the music you wrote sober is my favorite. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Ocean Machine, City, Ki, and Ziltoid were sober albums. The only one I would rate to be as great as them is Terria, which I believe was a THC induced journey  But anyway, Ki proved that you have not lost your touch one bit, and I'm looking forward to what you've been experimenting with.

Absolutely. Not a big fan of Ki (Gato is amazing though), but it's a brilliant record and a really cool step for the devman.

Addicted does seem like it could be the album of 2009 and my favorite by him. I've been looking for a wall-of-sound, up tempo and rockin' album since... forever! Haha.

Cheers to Addicted!

With all the stuff the Dev has coming out, makes the fact that i have not yet finished one album (tons of songs just not 100% finished) makes me feel like a lazy scumbag hahaha

Good on you Mr Townsend. I'm looking forward to hearing all possible future music.

Well, I doubt it's really as easy as Devin may make it seem to create albums.

Another musician I'm a big fan of, Jari Mäenpää of Wintersun has been making the follow-up to the Wintersun debut album since 2006 or so. I think that kind of puts things to perspective. I guess it's down to many things: budget, tools and what kind of an album you are trying to create etc. etc..

I wonder what the teaser will be like....hopefully not one that lets us hear all the songs. That ruins surprise.
