Yeah, there's a theme...

Yeah, it'll probably be promoted as much or more than anything I've done.

It's easy to listen to, it's fun to dance to, but it's not a sell out. It's just a streamlined version of all the good bits.

I love it, I can't stop listening to it.

There will be folks that will sniff at it and turn their noses up because it's easy on the ears, and they want challenge...cool, Deconstruction coming.

THIS is NOT about that though... Addicted is my version of 'pop'. And before anyone cries foul, 'Life' 'Stagnant' 'Slow Me Down', 'Material' etc...it's always been there, here's a heavier, less 'precious' version of some of that...with BEATS.

Again, record 2 guys, and the 'pop' theme is part of the whole story.

I reallly like it.

i dont think you should be worried about selling out. no one can really explain what it means in a very precise way. for fucks sake youve gotta get paid to live.

Most of the time I'd like to say that's me, but Vampira and Bad Devil are also two of my favourites from you, so odds are I will enjoy it, and probably more than Accellerated Evolution, but certainly not as much as Ki or Deconstruction.

With the sheer variation of your music, I think it's impossible for you to sell out.

Like the Melvins and Meshuggah, I'll buy anything you put out, and enjoy it.

Who knows, this might be a musical turning point for me - pop is becoming ever more interesting to me!

I hope Addicted sells a million copies. If only Devin could be marketed like the big stars are, he'd surely sell tons more than he is now...

I'll also throw in with the crowd wanting a live DVD of the tour (if that's up to you); the lineup you've got going there sounds amazing - I'd kill for a good quality DVD. I'd also pay money for a good quality DVD, but I'd kill too. Still, Addicted is around the corner so I'll shut up. :D

PS Melbourne is a pretty cool city man. *cough*

Good luck with the shingles too, my mate had that and couldn't leave the house for a month.

QUESTION QUESTION QUESTION QUESTION

"Bend It Like Bender" is a single you say? Will it have an earlier release with that in mind?

Hopefully 2 more background singers, one guy, one girl

We will be doing visuals and playing to tape as well. (visuals when we can, festivals etc)

What are you gonna do about keys? Is that all gonna be on tape...or sampled?

So if this is like your 'pop' album, are you going to put out 3 different versions of the same single, forcing die-hard fans to buy all 3 versions? Or how about a remix album? Those are pretty popular these days. Dev vs DJ Tiesto hahahha :D

Well, when I say 'pop', I just mean popular. The label will probably sell it in different formats for a presale (different options, shirts or whatever) Inside Out was bought by Century Media, who do a few things, but at the meeting last week, seem pretty progressive and realistic about the current state of the industry.

I would love this one to be popular, it's positive, cool, and I can back it. Plus, if one of them gets popular, then all of them benefit, and I could do it up large for the future. (fiddle playing elephants on stage etc...)

In terms of 'soaking the audience'...again, at this stage of my career, I'm not wealthy, so yeah...I'd love to sell a few records, but I'm fully aware that when it leaks, you'll all listen then...and thats cool too. I'm just trying to feed the family, but true, the bottom line is making music. The only reason I sometimes stress about downloading is when my bills are in danger of not getting paid...but I think it'll be fine. Enjoy any way you want to, support, downloading and spreading the word, or come to a show.

Live, I'll be playing to tape. But I'm working currently on the backing tracks to make all the older stuff new, Physicist will sound like it should have, for example...
