Same. I mean, I love how all the albums will have their own style/story/purpose/feeling but I also looooove acoustic sounding, and especially from the descriptions of the sound I've heard, it will be amazing.

But overall, yeah, the individual albums always have their own story, which really isn't something that many people can do. Yeah other people have their stories MAKING their cd's, but it doesn't that they are creating a story for the music. I always feel like i'm listening to a story/going on a journey when listening to Dev's stuff. Whether it is hard/soft, singing/instrumental, the CD's always bring together all the components and give it actual feeling to attach to. I mean even in the case of DTP, the whole concept of the four albums is it's own journey to listen to. Each CD has it's own purpose. Each CD has it's own feeling. Great stuff.

But with three albums coming out (four with Ki when all said and done) with different sounds and different stories is like going to a buffett. We are all going to get great diversity.

cliffnotes: Woot for music. Lulz

I'll stfu now.

Are you going to do a preorder like you did with Ki? If you do, I'll preorder it as soon as humanly possible.

Will any of the future dtp albums have throwbacks to your old albums? I always love when you throw in a little riff or lyrics, but I could understand if you didn't want to to do that for the dtp.

unless you mean after Addicted, my reply is: didn't look at the tracklist or lyrics yet, eh? :P
if you mean after Addicted: i'd be interested in seeing the answer too!

If I had to guess, I'd say the answer would be something like, "If it fits," or "If it makes sense."

That is, if making a reference to an older album or track would help advance the idea of a particular piece, I don't think he'd hesitate to throw it in. But on the flip side I don't see him making the reference for the sake of making a reference.

I always love the throwbacks! I've started doing it myself in songs, but some people I work with dont understand the point of it. I'm not sure why either, but its always cool to hear a throwback/reference! Are we getting a preview clip soon? :D Everytime I run into my cousin on campus he asks if theres any new info on Addicted, and I dont want to disappoint haha

I would LOVE to see a DVD of one of the larger festival performances. By way way Devin, have you heard this guy? http://www.myspace.com/iambulb. I find it very easy to imagine you singing on his stuff, especially the more melodic pieces. I can imagine him being open to a collaboration.

Will Addicted be quietly released or is there some kind of plan for heavy advertising after it is released? If you feel this good about the record I wonder if you plan to do it and see exactly how well it could do.

Konrad, Konrad, Konrad...he's also doing the video for the 'single', Bend It Like Bender. No one but him for me.

Yeah, there's a theme...

Yeah, it'll probably be promoted as much or more than anything I've done.

It's easy to listen to, it's fun to dance to, but it's not a sell out. It's just a streamlined version of all the good bits.

I love it, I can't stop listening to it.

There will be folks that will sniff at it and turn their noses up because it's easy on the ears, and they want challenge...cool, Deconstruction coming.

THIS is NOT about that though... Addicted is my version of 'pop'. And before anyone cries foul, 'Life' 'Stagnant' 'Slow Me Down', 'Material' etc...it's always been there, here's a heavier, less 'precious' version of some of that...with BEATS.

Again, record 2 guys, and the 'pop' theme is part of the whole story.

I reallly like it.

This makes me sad, when Dev comes to Melbourne(Australia) we always get the bare minimum of a band's set, so I guess we will only have the minimum, ahh well at least hes in Australia. (Notice how i said *WHEN* means you have to come to Australia Dev, ahaha)
