But that makes that post more positive than negative. Which means you can't possibly be the real Dunkelheit. :P

Good ones:

Riverside - Anno Domini High Definition (fuck you Lars, it's awesome)
Behemoth - Evangelion (see above)
Devin Townsend Project - Ki
Mastodon - Crack The Skye
Olafur Arnalds - Found Songs
Kong - Snake Magnet

Disappointments:

Muse - The Resistance (fuck you Lars, it's rubbish)
Ephel Duath - Through My Dog's Eyes
Cannibal Corpse - Evisceration Plague
Chimaira - The Infection

Upcoming:

Devin Townsend Project - Addicted
Devin Townsend Project - Deconstruction
Oceansize - Home and Minor
Between The Buried And Me - The Great Misdirect

There's a whole bunch I didn't listen to properly yet though.

I think this has been a pretty good year so far (And definitely better than last)

Highlights so far:
Devin Townsend Project - Ki (don't think this needs any explanation)
Mastodon - Crack The Skye (both as an individual album, and within the wider context of all of Mastodon's other stuff this album could not have been better)
Enochian Theory - EVOLUTION: Creatio Ex Nihilio (listen now!)
Exivious - Exivious (been waiting for this for a long time and it didn't dissapoint)
Dredg - The Pariah, The Parrot, the Delusion (so unashamedly poppy that it somehow works)
Isis - Wavering Radiant (has been a little overshadowed by some of the others here but still great)
Porcupine Tree - The Incident (although I've only been listening for 5 days so my opinion could still end up changing completely at this stage)

Disappointments:
Dysrhythmia - Psychic Maps (I was really looking forward to this album and it just hasn't seemed to click with me)
Callisto - Providence (completely forgetable)

And still anticipating:
Devin Townsend Project - Addicted
Between The Buried And Me - The Great Misdirect
and I still need to check out the new Jesu

Let me put one for my anticipations:

Powerman 5000 - Somewhere on the Other Side of Nowhere"

From everything I've heard it sounds like they are going back to their older style instead of the punk style they've been doing for the past few albums.

Dev- Ki (like...duh!)
Mastodon- Crack the Skye

I don't think I heard anything else deserving of the title "best"....

Next year anticipations? The Omega Experiment
Malicious Hate- Crush the Weak (my grind band)

Yes I am full of myself...Suck it.

Vigilance is not nearly as good as I'd hoped it would be.

Agreed. It has a few songs that stand out as strong Threat Signal tracks, but it does not hold up well against their first.

The good ones:
- Dev - Ki (.. what a suprise :D)
- Mastodon - Crack the Skye (AWESOME!)
- Megadeth - Endgame (as above)
- Devildriver - Pray For The Villains (with high hopes just barely succeeded, but still on the good side)
- Torture Killer - Sewers (new band, new album, new mosh!)

The not-so-ones:
- Killswitch Engage - KSE (with high hopes it came rumbling down)
- Dredg - The whatever they were (I'll just stay with the old albums..)
- Threat Signal - Vigilance (with low expectations, it still doesn't do the trick for me)

Haven't heard PT's new yet, except "Time Flies". But that is awesome!

I'd have to agree. My first Dredg Album was El Cielo and it blew me away 7 years ago. I did buy the new one but it just ain't that great. Back then their songs were huge and mind blowing. Can't say that about the new material :(
