Yes, inadequate language skills often hamper on your logical thinking as well.

There's been at least couple decades of activism against English language from their government.

God I hope not. No offence to Dev, but I don't think I'd enjoy an "unplugged" Addicted nearly as much. :(

The 'Animal' avatar has been up since I joined these boards 5 years ago or whenever they started. Thought I'd change it up and show myself while flashing some Pearl Drums. I love my drums...

Hey Dev and all. Digging Ki, anticipating Addicted. Just got into DT a little under a year ago, and I love lots of it (SYL, solo, DTP, etc.) for all different reasons.

Anyway, as far as I can tell this is the best place to ask this.

So I'm trying to explain the DTP in general to a fellow and I'm wondering if I can get input on this. Essentially, have I got it close, am I way off, dead on? Here's my explanation.

---------------

Basically, the DT Project tells a story and has a single unifying message across all 4 albums. Ki, the first, is an introduction - and the 4 albums are sort of set up in a frame narrative style in that the ending is given away at the beginning... or sort of like a Greek tragedy, where all the audience, going into the play, is expected to already know what happens. Ki tells the entire story in summary, and then each of the following 3 albums goes into distinct detail about one period/act of that story. The album Ki itself follows this pattern, with the first few tracks (like Disruptr and Heaven Send... Heaven Send being right on the border) describing the second album, Addicted (thus a straight up record reminiscent of the music he was making while under the influence - a style that itself may be addicting), the middle of the album (like Winter if I recall correctly) describing the third album, Deconstruction (an instrospective look at what life is all about, philosophizing about what's important both in life and music, what it means to be happy, very heavy stuff with lots of metaphor and message), and the end of Ki (Trainfire, Ki, Quiet Riot) describes the contents of the fourth album, currently untitled, which basically says, "Hey man, you can search for your universal truths if you want, but you're never going to figure it all out, so let's just have a good time and there's a party if you want to come" (phrasing for that is largely stolen from the "Devin Townsend On His Inspiration And Influences" video on that site I linked earlier).
