Talk about other artists here (even though they all rip off Meshuggah)

EVERY other Faith No More release, esp. Album of the Year (personal opinion).

Existentialist is right on with "California".

Also, The Dillinger Escape Plan's collaboration with him on the EP "Irony is a Dead Scene". I think this is his most genius moment, but again personal opinion.

I don't dig his Ipecac solo releases as much, but Peeping Tom is the closest you will get to him sounding anything like Faith No More post-break-up. Tomahawk is OK too.

Why? I think he's one of the most versatile artists out there. He's eclectic, and he can pretty much do anything with his voice.

Wiki has a great page on him: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_Patton

Ryan VP twittered this video last night, and it is hilarious, typical Patton fashion:

Song is Evidence off Faith No More's King For A Day, Fool For A Lifetime

Mr. Bungle - The Air-Conditioned Nightmare off California

Peeping Tom - Mojo

I agree with the others - get Faith No More's Angel Dust, King For A Day, Fool For A Lifetime, and Album Of The Year. Then Mr. Bungle's California, Peeping Tom, and Tomahawk's Mit Gas. Then everything else (Wiki is your friend). :D

Very cool. I've looked at his Wiki before, but it only goes so far--all I can gather is what album a lot of people like, and in this case, which of Patton's acts people like. So I was looking for some recommendations there. I'll check out the stuff you guys recommended, though. Thanks!

You should also have a listen to this:

Called Mondo Cane. It's a forthcoming project, album due out next year.

I would also recommend that you have a listen to Fantomas' Delìrium Còrdia.

Lunatic Soul!

I'm thinking of using a song from this CD for my presentation in a music appreciation class. It's a 10 minute presentation on the song of choice, from an active listener's point of view; what it is, what it means, instrumentation...etc. If that makes any sense.

Have any opinions Biert? Any of the songs will do really, but I want one that will really sum up Mariusz' CD.

p.s Townsend would be great, but I don't think S.Y.L ... Skeksis... Oh My Fucking God would bode well :P

If you need a ~10-minute song just go with Earth Day or Tiny Tears or Funeral or The Death Of Music or or or or... :P

Does the song have to be 10 minutes long? If not, use "Ballad of Jimi Hendrix" by S.O.D, it's about 6 seconds long (chug chug chug HE's DEAD *end*) and use rest of time for slam poetry.
