No I originally had a 4 string, but recording stuff with my 7 and tuning down to Bb or F wasnt exactly right. So I traded that in with some stuff and got myself a basic ESP 5 string bass. Thing is nice, nothing special at all and like I said mainly for recording purposes. I always have a lot of fun recording bass for my songs because it's usually just following the guitar, but I throw little things here and there that make it interesting.
