I don't like being there that much, cause I'm not a real city person, but its got some cool places so I don't mind a visit now and then (I'm going there tomorrow actually :D ) i can tell you though that London Heathrow is massive, and last time I was there had armed police too. xD Make sure you have phones charged, cause if you get lost trying to find someone, its a nightmare. xD

God help me if there's armoured police. We'll spend a whole day attempting to leave the airport while avoiding every area where guns and Prexy could possibly be within 50 miles of each other.

Time to bump, just because I've found lots of nice photos of my homeland (sorry for MASSIVE POST)

Tatra Mountains, up to almost 2,5km over the sea level:

Image
Image

Gory Stolowe (which means "Table Mountains" - guess what, they have flat tops):

Image

Pieniny:

Image

Bieszczady (Mecca of our hippie-rockers, pretty wild and beautiful place, hosts severe part of population of Polish wolves, lynxes and quad-riding cretins):

Image

Valley of Zywiec (home of most popular brand of beer) - city of Zywiec not included on the photo:

Image

Biebrza National Park:

Image

Narew river:

Image

Rospuda river, I almost killed myself there while kayaking some summers ago. Tens of kilometers of unregulated river, lots of swamps and mosquitoes. May contain eagles:

Image

Warsaw is bit on the ugly side, but has ton of stories to tell (mosty about wars, uprisings and similiar stuff - almost completely levelled after fall of uprising in 1944). Most bearable photo of Warsaw I managed to find:

Image

Poznan:

Image

Warped house in Sopot (nope, that's not photoshop):

Image

Gdynia, where you can avoid traffic by parking your schooner next to your workplace:

Image

Bydgoszcz:

Image

Castle of the Teutonic Order in Malbork (badass name, isn't it), built in 13th century:

Image

Moszna castle. I'm posting it mainly because moszna is Polish word for scrotum, which is fucking hilarious, I AM JAN THE TERRIBLE, I COME FROM SCROTUM

Image

Niedzica castle:

Image

Sand dunes over the Baltic sea:

Image

There's some more nice views, castles, medieval architecture and other nice things, but I don't want to spam the thread to death. I tried to find nice photo of city of Wroclaw, which is awesome because it has bridges everywhere (about one hundred of them), but couldn't decide which pic to use. Gotta believe me, Wroclaw is ace.

Of course there's lots of butt ugly views, but I think we're slowly getting better as a place.

Almost forgot - can't spare you that one. City of Rzeszow has monument of HUGE CONCRETE VAGINA in the middle of it (there are plans to remove it - Reszovians protest):

Image

Now it really is over.

EDIT: corrected the link to the concrete lady bits - looks like previous link expired

No I'm really glad you posted those pictures, Poland looks like such a beautiful place - I had no idea! The nature shots are amazing, and the metropolitan shots are beautiful as well. Looks like you've got wicked fog, eh? - or perhaps they're just huge nimbus clouds or something? The Valley of Zywiec, and the Gory Stolowe pictures remind me of the sky here

Anyways, great pictures. Poland's looking pretty awesome, might have to take a vacation 8)

Oh, and: Scrotum. Brilliant. How did that happen!?

I stayed overnight in London a couple of weeks ago, as our flight to Orlando was from Gatwick.

Seriously, hearing that accent all day I found it really really hard not to burst into this song

More on topic, I need to dig out my photographs of Scotland.

Yup, these are clouds, though things can get bit foggy here from time to time.

Oh, and: Scrotum. Brilliant. How did that happen!?

I can sort of understand that, words change their meaning with time, so probably moszna was something other back then. But how could they overlook artist designing monumental labia in the middle of a city is beyond me (it's officialy "monument for revolutional deed" or some crap like that, like, yeah).
