We had short thunder storm today which was very nice because we have had only a few short ones and one real one so far this summer.

Red wine... I have a nice bottle at home i am waiting to finish tomorrow when my friend arrives. I can imagine we will be downing more than just half a bottle of wine during his stay!

Thunder and lightning, happy that it's 9 o'clock in the evening, eating cheese and crackers, having a cigarette, celebrating life for any reason... All perfect excuses to fuel ones budding alcoholism with a drink which seems far too cultured a drink to binge on. God I love wine.

Two posts about alcohol in a row? Looks like Orly needs to cut back. Lucky I'm getting a bag of weed tomorrow night, perfect time to not bother drinking for a while :D :D (You know things are bad when you need a reason NOT to drink :?)...

Better be good stuff! I might get to smoke this weekend for the first time in a while.

I keep tinkering with this song I've been writing on my 8 string. I keep coming up with riffs for it, but they just dont fit the way I want them to. This may not get posted this weekend =/

Haha if I had the time off and the money I'd be much obliged to get out of the country for a week or so!

you can send some my way. I used to be a dope fiend but i don't have a single source of weed in Finland. In 3.5 years i have come across 2 people who smoke it. The second fellow actually has stems but he is a bit of a lunatic and i am a little feared to call him.

Playing my tele....still trying to master "economy picking". I can already tell it will make things easier in the long run, but I think it makes for a different tone, sound and character. I dunno if I like it. I have always liked doing things the hard way (bigger strings, higher action, less distortion) because I think it- A. Sounds better, and B. Makes me appreciate it more because I worked HARD for it. Hmm..we will see.

give it a shot. I learnt by spending about a week practicing nothing but different combinations of sweeping. It can really help in those more complex melodies and riffs that combine a lot of different string jumps.

I just need to get my speed up and lose some of the sloppiness.

^^ Cool!
On that note (no pun intended) I'm trying my hand at some King Crimson songs - some of them are not really feasible if Tony Levin is using a stick - or if it's Trey Gunn era, a Warr guitar.
So, some songs are out. But so far I'm working on Red and Thela Hun Ginjeet. Oh, and Tony Levin's bass parts from No Twilight within the Courts of the Sun. Tony Levin is a God.
