Just a short cover. Sounds immense. I might re-mix the bass down some, it kind of makes it sound a little too thick and muddy in the Soundclick player.

I've finally got my drum sound!

Also I added some fun little lead parts that I think fit pretty well. Just for fun!

It's shorter than my last one for some reason, but it's really just a test. I might change my 8 string tone around some.

The video demos on there alone sold me on this product. I only have the original AD, not any of the add-ons.

It does sound good.

But stop making covers and throw up more original material.

Im so damn picky about my original stuff! I'm never happy with it and feel like it needs to be worked on more and more.

That being said I do have one thing I plan to put up soon. Very chaotic, very technical.

Yeah, Dev does the same thing, too. Sometimes you just have to release it. Then you can get a better perspective off of what you could do better by getting some outside perspective.

"Bending Time" and "Biotica" are great, though, so not sure what you're worried about.

It's really that I just dont feel it's "done". Like parts are missing. Last night though I ended up working on 2 pieces. One is an original 8 string piece and the other is that incredibly chaotic song. My friend will probably be coming over some day this week to record the bass for it.

I just start writing things, and then start adding riffs to keep it going and end up hating those riffs because they sound generic and uninspired. Like I literally just put them there to keep the song going.

I have a few things I do want to record soon, stuff I've been working my ass off on. But then I still have A LOT of unfinished ideas that I just cant feel anymore, just cant come up with anything.

Biotica will be re-recorded. And it will be amazing when it is.

A personal philosophy of mine, take it or leave it.

The term "generic" generally has a negative connotation, but there's not really anything wrong with it. I'd consider half the actual guitar riffs on Ocean Machine generic, but Dev made them in his image. Breaking Benjamin has never written a non-generic song. Just because a formula is well-tested doesn't mean it's bad. Write your music, but try not to over-analyze the formula in terms of it's previous usage. There's a thin line between perfectionist and obsessive-compulsive.

Uninspired, however, is a different story. You're an awesome guitarist and a great songwriter, so if you're not feeling yourself, you can't force anything.

Well I take all of that back. Last night I worked on an 8 string piece I had been writing for a while. And today I added about a minute to it. It's turned into a brutally epic 8 string piece. Really cool moving harmonies going on, lots of low chuggy stuff. I thought about adding a clean section to break up the pace, but it broke it up too much and I didnt like it.

That being said, expect something soon! Very Meshuggah inspired, without sounding TOO much like them (I hope)

And thanks, island, I've always tried to write good songs. Instead of just trying to be a good guitar player.
