Talk about other artists here (even though they all rip off Meshuggah)

I am having fun getting my voice back in shape...I am no "frontman"...but I can do some mean harmonies, and manipulate my voice pretty well. It is coming together. Motion sample by the start of next week!!

Sorry to derail the RUSH worship....I love them too!! Never was familiar with Power Windows though. I remember the "Big Money" video when I was a kid. Loved it!!

I personally like Hemispheres and ermmm.....ahem....*cough* Presto *cough*.

Man, I will probably get crucified now....LOL.

No crucifixion from me mate. Presto is a great album. 'The Pass' is one of their all time great tunes. Their low point is their early to mid 90s stuff, Test for Echo and to a lesser extent Counterparts. Woeful, by their untouchable standards.

But when you've released 18 other magnificent albums over 40 years of existence, who the hell cares!

Ix-nay on the Apor Trails-vay.

By the way, Snakes and Arrows is a phenomenal album, and I'll fight anyone who says otherwise.

though they really don't have any special stand out songs; i have been listening to Blackguard's debut quite a bit recently.

Also been going back through my collection of Hypocrisy CDs. Abducted has some truly great songs. Really i am just getting geared up for the new album. Virus is one of the best albums i've ever heard.

Hehe, Presto is also very good. Besides 'The Pass' which is probably my all-time favorite song there's cool songs like Show Don't Tell and Superconductor. Solid album methinks.

By the way, Vapor Trails was my first introduction to Rush so I do have a special place for it (despite its lacking production). Heard 'One Little Victory' in Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit 2, got VT and then gradually got hooked on all the other good stuff. Crazy how I seem to learn about my favorite artists from playing video games... :D

And yes, Snakes & Arrows is awesome; I can agree with the statement that it doesn't have any stand-out songs, but I interpret that as the album having equally strong songs throughout. 8)

+1 Swerve. :) Vapor Trails was one of the first ones I heard - and I agree 100% that the sound quality is SHIT! But the songs are killer. Secret Touch ftw.

Snakes and Arrows is great! Still awesome after all these years. C'mon - Malignant Narcissism? I'd buy the CD for that song alone.

Plus Devon is HEAVILY influenced by Tull! Which is the best thing evar. :D

He even plays the flute!

Wings Of Faith is still my favorite, though

Everything there is from The January Tree, but all their albums are phenomenal.

Oh, by the way, prior to Deadsoul Tribe, Devon was in a band called Psychotic Waltz, based in your home state. I don't think they were as good, but if you like the funky bass intros...

Oh cool! Yeah I really liked what I heard, and I just can't get enough of Devon's voice. Thanks for the recommendations/videos. I just read about Psychotic Waltz the other day, perhaps in some bass magazine, completely randomly too. Well I'm excited, I always like finding new stuff that really clicks with teh Catlin. :D

Test For Echo had some damn good songs. It's no 2112 or Hemispheres, but it had its songs.

Vapor Trails, no.

Snakes and Arrows is a great driving album.

I seem to have started at the beginning of Ocean Machine after listening for the "I have a big penis" Abydost claimed was in Hide Nowhere (don't listen to his LIEEES...) and now I'm progressing through it nicely. The Death of Music.

Abydost is not lying in this case. ;)

Currently listening to (& watching) the Tour de France livestream.

You rate T4E over VT???????? Are you high? VT absolutely ROCKS, it's the sound of Rush roaring back into form after a horror period for them. It was triumph over tragedy. T4E is a wet blanket by comparison, the work of a tired band going through the motions. Peart's tragedies and the ensuing break completely re-vitalised that band....

I am in on the RUSH worship! I absolutely adore the band. Though I have to admit, I am stuck with the progressive rock albums 2112 all through to Moving Pictures. I started with Hemispheres and have collected vinyls of all the albums surrounding it but I am stuck. I love it so much I haven't bothered to move past into the late 80's and beyond. I have read reviews of the later albums and they just don't sound like my cup of tea so I have been keeping away.

Maybe it is time to jump into the fire. Any recommendations for the first album I should try from everything released after Moving Pictures? I am very interested.

Yes....Show Don't tell is SU-FUCKING-PREME.....Love it. I also love that DVD that comes with Snakes and Arrows, where they are recording way up in the mountains.
