If you haven't yet had the pleasure, treat yourself to this piece of perfection. Just don't expect to love it on 1st or 2nd listen.....

What a coincidence - I was just talking to my brother last night about how good that album that is, and how it seems pretty under appreciated  The Big Money video rules, it's very 80's. Awesome.

It really is great, I sometimes catch myself overlooking it. I read somewhere that The Big Money was written and recorded in a single day, just because they wanted to put another song on the album (and had a day of studio time left). :) My personal favorites on Power Windows are Emotion Detector and Mystic Rhythms though. The latter also has a video btw:

Currently listening to Stéphane Picq, who wrote the soundtrack to the old Lost Eden game. Brilliant electronic ambient-y stuff.

A load of Porcupine Tree songs. Trying to understand the hype. Unfortunately the minutes I've spent listening to this boring shit can never be taken back. :?

That's actually not a bad album. I was surprised.

The whole thing just lacks any sort of buzz or excitement. Feels so bland and banal. For me, anyway. And the vocals are painful!

NP: Clutch - Strange Cousins from the West

This. Is. AWESOME.

Haha like I said, definitely not for everyone. I just kind of stumbled upon them one day after hearing about them and got absolutely hooked for a while.

EXACTLY what I thought when I first listened to them, and for quite some time. For ages I thought 'what the hell is everyone raving about?'. Then, finally, it clicked, and they are now one of my top 5 favourite bands of all time. Like a band like Rush, they take time and patience to digest and appreciate. Give them time, eventually you'll thank yourself....

Sweet, good to see others who love this album, too. Definitely one of Rush's best...it was actually the first studio album of Rush's that I bought for myself. Lifeson's glistening guitar tone still amazes me to this day. Emotion Detector is also my favorite from the album...the solo set a new standard for what I thought guitar solos should do dynamically. Every song rules in its own right, though!

Oh cool! I'd never seen that video - and I live with an even bigger Rush nerd than I! Thanks for posting that - yes, Emotional Detector is a favorite one off the CD :D

What the fuck dude?! I had heard about these guys for a while here and there, and always thought it was some hip-hop group (I must've been thinking of Tribe Called Quest of some shit) anyways... last night, I was listening to Ayreon, for Akerfeldt and Townsend and LaBrie... and all that. And I see this Devon dude. And I'm thinking, ew.. another Devon? Gross. But then I thought he was handsome. Then I heard his voice and was pleasantly surprised! I don't know what it is about his voice - but there's some magic in it. Really beautiful but bizness-time all in one.

So anyways, I did some youtubing and decided I like them and am going to listen some more.

His man-crying in Out On A Limb makes me so uncomfortable! :D I think that's the point lol yeah I've been listening to that CD non-stop. I make everyone listen too; whether they like it or not determines the future of the friendship

Definitely! Lifeson reminds me of Eric Johnson or Jeff Back at times. It's great playing and phenomenal guitar tone. Lifeson doesn't always get the credit he deserves, methinks.

Dead Soul Tribe (also spelled Deadsoul Tribe) can SOUND a bit shallow and boring at times, but there's always an incredible depth and progressiveness to it.

Plus Devon is HEAVILY influenced by Tull! Which is the best thing evar. :D

He even plays the flute!

Wings Of Faith is still my favorite, though

Everything there is from The January Tree, but all their albums are phenomenal.

Oh, by the way, prior to Deadsoul Tribe, Devon was in a band called Psychotic Waltz, based in your home state. I don't think they were as good, but if you like the funky bass intros...

Now listening to Jethro Tull - Songs From The Wood.

The Omega Experiment- Motion w/vocals

I am having fun getting my voice back in shape...I am no "frontman"...but I can do some mean harmonies, and manipulate my voice pretty well. It is coming together. Motion sample by the start of next week!!

Sorry to derail the RUSH worship....I love them too!! Never was familiar with Power Windows though. I remember the "Big Money" video when I was a kid. Loved it!!

I personally like Hemispheres and ermmm.....ahem....*cough* Presto *cough*.

Man, I will probably get crucified now....LOL.
