I agree with you for the most part... but what I ment is this. Through Dev's posts over the past few months and through this whole DTP timeline so far, it seems as though Dev is planning on distancing himself a bit from the "heavy" sound once all 4 DTP releases are out. And like I said in the last post, as a HUUUUGGEEEE Dev fan, I'm 100% with him on any decision he makes musically because Im almost certain he's incapable of writing a bad song lol. The man could record himself taking a shit and i'd buy it at this point. lol well maybe not that but you get what im trying to say. SO, that being said... I was just worried in the sense that since Dev is planning on maybe going down a lighter path in the future, it'd be extremely awesome if we got the last "taste" so to speak. It'd be nice to hear Addicted come out and be heavy and poppy like he had described it to be..and I would LOVE to hear Deconstruction come out and be the heaviest/weirdest shit he's ever written like he said. I dunno im kinda bad at explaining my thoughts on text but I'm sure you guys must see where im coming from and maybe agree?

Like I said, anything Dev does is bound to be amazing... I love his entire catalogue which as we all know is insanely diverse and different...im sure anything he does in the future, heavy or light, will make my hair stand up and give me the chills like all his older stuff does. I kinda assumed Addicted would be a AE, OM, Phycisist-y type of sound and Deco would be more along the lines of a SYL album in terms of the chaos and heavyness...

Dev, if your out there reading this can you shed a little light on that post? Are you planning on changing the direction of the next 3 DTP albums?

ok so I just shot over to the Ki board (prolly should of done that b4 I posted the last post) and im more confused than ever. I have to admit, im a little scared. Dev, what do you mean Deconstruction had turned into a "musical" What kind of musical? Is it going to like Ziltoid with narration? Or do you mean it's going to be more like a Synchestra type of feel? Is it still going to have anything "heavy" about it like orignally? AND you mentioned that Addicted is finished but you are sitting on it for awhile. Are you planning on releasing it generally as it is with maybe a few tweaks here and there as you sit on it, or are you planning on rewriting the album entirely to sound different? AHHH im all anxious now lol

But it is hard NOT to care about Addicted with all the information we have been given and the clips we have heard.

I lost my confidence on it...

I'm going to start again in 3 weeks mixing, this time...I'm not going to let anybody hear until it's done.

I remember loving it 2 weeks ago, it's amazing how comments on rough mixes by the people close to me shot me confidence.

What a dweeb...

I'm going to mix the records I've commited to here, do a couple of small things, then get back at it...

dtp is still on...it's a brain fuck though.

gaaahhhh.

Figuring shit out in public again...awesome.

...did I mention I want to play clean guitar?

gah.

take your time dev, really. it has to be genuine and organic for you, or else it wont be for anyone else. its your vision, and however long it takes you to fully realize that i think the fans can wait cuz we know what comes out the other side will be amazing.

That's fair enough. I'm sure you have plenty to be doing besides humouring us with updates. Besides, you're entitled to be in two minds about things; they're your things. I wish I had your discipline like, sticking to deadlines without anyone bothering me has never been my forte.

Wow, talk about an overreaction to nothing. Why not calm the fuck down and await the beautiful music patiently? It's not like he's decided to quit music forever! He's just brainstorming, throwing out alternative ideas. If you're like me you'll know that whatever his output, it'll be nothing short of exemplary... I reckon that he probably knows exactly what he's doing, he just has concerns sometimes that "we" won't like it. And it seems as though then he realises "fuck it, I'm doing this for me" and disappears again. He's right too. He can do whatever he wants, it's his art.

JEEEEEEEEEZ GUY. Why are people jumping down my throat for asking a question. First of all im not overreacting to anything. Just a little confused and asking for clarity. Secondly like I clearly stated about 3 or 4 times in my posts, No matter what he does I'm going to love it because I love everything he does wether it be heavy, light, weird, or whatever...im simply asking for clarity on the whole thing seeing as how I was stoked with how the youtube vids sounded. so YOU stop overreacting and let people ask their questions without trying to make them feel stupid for voicing their opinions. Whats the point of a forum if people cant ask questions and voice opinions bro? sheesh......

ANYWAY, thanks for shedding some light on the whole thing Dev... WHATEVER you end up doing with the rest of the DTP, and with other future releases, you can bet ill be supporting till ya quit. Your one of my absolute favorite artists and always will be and Im super excited to hear what you have in store for all of us down the road. Take as much time as you need on these albums Dev!!! Can't wait to hear 'em!!

I was really worried about the clean guitar comment since I love the youtube videos so much, but Zyprexa is right. It's your thing, and it would be selfish of me to ask you to change it for me. You do whatever and I will love it.
