I wish! No, I use the session drummer in Sonar 8, but I mix them down to audio individually on 4 tracks (bass drum, toms, snare, cymbals) so I can eq and effect them and such.

I don't have the computer capacity to operate DFH, believe it or not I am running a shitty ass Emachines from 2002 with 384 mb of ram and an 80 gb hard drive. No joke. I need funding! Maybe I will knock on some label's doors or something. I must learn from Devin though and try to find something where I keep my creative control, and don't end up with massive debt (already got enough!).

usually I take notice to shitty drum machines right away. They really stand out to my ears but this doesn't sound bad at all and I didn't take notice. In fact I didn't even consider what you used. It sounds very good in the mix.

Usually I don't give high praise to new projects I come across (and I am always lurking the net for new music) but this is fantastic so far. I am excited that I have found it now and not later after this album was completed. This way I can follow its advancement.

Rough list of the equipment I have used so far:

Fender Koa Telecaster- two different tunings, DADGBE (Phenom, Gift, Motion, probably Karma, Paramount), BF#DGBE (Stimulus, Furor, Terminus)
ADA Mp-1 pre-amp (main rhythm tone, using Rocktron for cab sim)
Rocktron Chameleon (ALL effected tones)
Mackie 1402 mixer
M-audio Delta 1010 soundcard (yes, the one with frickin' RCA ins/outs)
Sonar 8 Producer (and most of its plug-ins, also session drummer for drums)
Ibanez and Treban basses (running thru the Rocktron believe it or not, great compression!)
Ryan uses a KORG x-50...
Samples are all made from scratch with distortion/effects...etc.
Shitty ass Emachines computer that is 7 years old...

Its all I got to work with, the rest is a good ear and just being creative. I can't imagine how much fun I would have if I actually had a budget for updated equipment!

I am always up for any questions...I love talking nerdy, techy, audiophile stuff. :D

You could send messages saying, "check out my site" but there is a very good chance that very few labels will actually check out your site. Best bet is to complete the entire album and choose the best three songs (or you could send the whole release) along with a biography to labels in the mail on a burnt CDr. The better you make the presentation of yourself the better chance that the CD will be played when they open the envelope and see your kick ass logo and band photo. :)

edit: 02:00 mark in FUROR is JIZZ IN MY FUCKING PANTS.

Thanx man hahaha....I have been thinking about doing the Soundclick thing, maybe upload clips or something. I am reeeaaally leary about letting anyone have real copies of the demos....hell, I even feel weird about potential singers having it! It is just way too precious, and plus...we need to keep people's appetites whetted somehow!

Maybe we will do like a 24 hr thing where it will be a limited time to download say, Furor or something. That may upset people that don't get a chance though...

How does the clip idea sound?

Dan, a little poop just came out. Thanks man.

What a trip it's been this morning discovering your tunes. It gives me that feeling I had the first time I heard Cosmic Sea by Death... and that's a huge compliment.

Finally something I can put on repeat since Ki came out.

I wish I knew any singers. Just out of curiosity, what kind of singer are you looking for? Clean singing, growling? etc.

Wow, now all I have to do is see if I can make people projectile vomit! Maybe the next project after this....

On repeat? Damn man... dunno what to say. I never thought I would do anything that would make people feel that way.

Ironic statement: Death is a huge part of my musical life....and continues to influence me in every area. Chuck as a person and a musician will always live on....

No growling....not for this project. For heavier stuff like "Furor", A "sung" scream would be cool....if you catch my drift. Like Bjorn from Soilwork...that tone he gets, or even Dev obviously. But, I would like to find people that are distinguishable...like an identifiable character in their voice. For instance, one guy we are working on "Motion" with is theoretically not the best singer I have heard, but the tone of his voice is great.
I really want to meet some kick ass females for this too....The chorus in Furor would be great with a chic backing up all that heaviness and ambience...the contrast would be awesome. Also....lighter stuff like Paramount needs REAL singing...a soaring voice.
Again....it would be a dream to find some freak of nature like Dev or Patton who could just kill on ALL of it, but the chances of that are veeerrrry slim.
I can tackle some vocals, but not in the "lead" capacity. If I can get the best I can find to do it....why not?

Abydost wrote:Seriously. If you don't get signed ON THE SPOT because of FUROR I am going to beat those people to death with a pencil.

LOLOLOLOLOLOL....That made my night hahaha. Thank you. I would pay good money to see that, and I hope you are right. :D

I take it you must be the reason we've had over 1000 hits in a day and a half (listening to Furor)....or maybe that was cuz of Dev?

Don't wear yourself out on it, its not done yet!!!
