Talk about other artists here (even though they all rip off Meshuggah)

I was doing some research on Trent Reznor and NIN recently since I haven't been following in detail about the project since The Fragile (I only heard of With Teeth and Year Zero but took no interest even though I watched them live 3 years ago).

But after reading about Year Zero and its promotional schemes and what Trent has done afterwards I decided to get The Fragile and Downward Spiral for cheap off eBay (both my original albums are back in Canada). I have been spinning these the last few days. Enjoying them immensely.

Probably the only true mix of industrial and rock with a little bit of pop added in (arguably on a few tracks only) that has gotten it right. A few songs leave a small dose of sour taste in my mouth but the majority is very good.

Djam Karet - Recollection Harvest
Sounds a bit like Camel in my opinion. Which is nice, because I like Camel.

Finally got the new DT and the new DT last night.

Devin = after 1 listen it may take some getting used to, but I'm certain I will warm to it. Very mellow and very different.

Dream Theater = Just DT doing what DT do, ie cranking out almighty Prog Metal the way no one else on the planet can do it. Stunning as usual.

After the Burial - Rareform re-release on their myspace

All I can say is  . These guys know how to play an 8 string guitar. One of the only bands I've heard that use them and DONT sound like a straight Meshuggah rip off. Incredible stuff and the new mix with real drums and their new singer gives the songs such a new life. I want this album yesterday.
