If MJ walked on stage during another bands performance, took a huge shit in a bucket, and then showed it the audience... What would you have thought of him?

He would be put all over the news and it'd have fuelled the haters... but like we would with Dev if he was of a status to be put all over the news... We'd not give a shit what they say and carry on loving him, knowing he, inside, is a perfectly awesome guy.

Here's a comment from one of MJ's ex-bodyguards:
- "He's the most misunderstood man in world. Everyone thought he was this weird freak but when you're with him he's as normal as everyone else. I don't think he felt he was as famous as everyone else thought, he didn't know any different.

"He was a very caring guy who would go out of his way to help the sick. One night in London he wanted to see some homeless people. He sent them loads of pizzas in secret. The guy had a good heart.

"We used to dress him up and sneak out of hotel room and do normal things in shops. People wouldn't know who he was but we wanted to give him a taste of the real life." -

But by all means... carry on and eat what you have been forcefed by the media, rather than considering the words of someone who ACTUALLY KNEW THE GUY.

^Well said.

Whatever you think of Micheal Jackson, he made Thriller.

R.I.P. Gotta listen to some of his best stuff when I have time.

At the end of the day, dark/sick/gallows humour is just a part of life. People will always find amusement in sick jokes, it's just human nature and the way a lot of people deal with the reality of life. Anyone that's ever known anyone in the emergency services really well can probably tell you that they're generally sick as fuck, it's just the way that a lot of people deal with the darker side of life.

Some people, myself included, find amusement in jokes relating to taboo subjects, or things that people are generally not supposed to find funny. It doesn't mean that they have a real dislike for Michael Jackson, they just find these funny because it's not socially acceptable to find these jokes funny.

I doubt you'll find many that take genuine pleasure from Michael Jackson's death, regardless of what they might say, or the sick jokes they make.

Personally, I came to the conclusion long ago that life is hard, and you can either let the dark side of life grind you down, and turn you into a miserable bastard, or you can give it the middle finger, tell it to get right tae fuck, and laugh in its face. I know which path I'm choosing.

You could get hit by a bus tommorow, so you might as well write a song called "Monged by a bus"

I'm sure there was a point to this post originallly, but I'm Scottish and easily distracted

Yeah I can understand that, but the people making jokes that i've seen (mostly just people's status updates on facebook)... Its clear that they all just have no idea of the truely harsh side of life. It just seems they all make jokes because they haven't been woken up to it yet. Some of them seem to be doing it purely for cases of ego and peer pressure.

Is it weird I instantly clicked your myspace link and checked for such song?

Anyway, I'm wondering if we will ever see stardom of such magnitude. Somehow I think the age of massive, long pop careers (750 million of records sold ffs) ended with advent of the internets and improved flow of information - nobody keeps focus so long (he's booooring, gimme something new!), not to mention "albums sold" aren't that good measurement anymore in the age of digital downloads. Damn I'm old :(

Amazing how many fans obviously don't own his music :-)

I repurchased the greatest hits album over the weekend. I got most of these albums when they actually came out so after 5-6 moves and 15 years, it's been difficult to locate them. Plus, a lot of people probably have their old albums on cassette or vinyl and might have bought CDs or the digital copy.

Haha considering the crap I normally write about, you'd think I'd have written one by now, but no such luck.

I did write a song called "Credit crunched by a bus" once, but it's just a pisstake of some band I found on youtube, with no real lyrics.
