Talk about other artists here (even though they all rip off Meshuggah)

New Depeche Mode CD - yes. I like them. Always will.
Ki - Tha Big Devin
Meshuggah - I use the analogy of a Meshuggah noob to a hot tub. You have to kind of ease your self in, it's a little uncomfortable at first, but you keep inching in the water, and before you know it - you're in up to your neck, groovin on it. Does that make any sense? The point is, I'm growing accustomed to them, but at first I wasn't an immediate fan. I think I can get into it though.
Door to the River - Porcupine Tree. I'll give someone a dollar if they can tell me which CD this is on, without the googles!*
OSI - Blood
Opeth Blackwater Park

*(Just seeing who has Metanoia, and I'm just being a Porupine Tree nerd, sorry.)

I bet you do. Props. Some people don't like the early noodlings of Steven Wilson, and others later, but I think they're super cool and trippy :D And if you keep in mind that that stuff was made long ago, I'd say the man is very innovative and ahead of his time :P

So the question is... how do you like them bass harmonics in "Door?" Colin Edwin is a force to be reckoned with  Really, he's amazing.

Havent given it a listen in a long time.

And I really dont care for his Tarquin's Seaweed Farm stuff. Way too out there, even for me. PT for me starts at Up The Downstair.

On another note, I've been digging a lot of electronica/some techno recently. Dunno why, but I've just had a little craving for it. It's a nice change from what I've been listening to.

That may be one of the funniest song names I've ever seen before.

Fair enough. Anything Steven Wilson has put onto analog tape or otherwise has a place in my heart. I'm an unapologetic fangirl :P
However, you are right, his really early "The Porcupine Tree/Timothy Tadpole-Jones/Sir Tarquin Underspoon...so on so forth" stuff is pretty experimental. Space Transmission FTW though.

Listening to Rush - oh man. Geddy.
Geddy, you guys. 8) 8) 8)

Bunch of stuff gathered on "On the sunday of life" is indeed barely listenable. On the other hand, songs like the nostalgia factory are absolute gems. How old was Wilson he back then, 15? Holy shit.

Well most of the stuff from "On the Sunday of Life" is compiled and re-recorded stuff from his projects before PT.

my "music time" has dwindled down over the years where i only have a about 10 hours a week to really sit down and enjoy albums. This means that i have a few select bands i follow now and rarely have time to discover new bands.

Though one new band i have really enjoyed lately is Wulfgar which is really an Amon Amarth clone but since i really dig Amon Amarth this band is really a good listen. It is sort of like having new AA material.
