It's not the classic pop definition of a "catchy" melody, but I had that second bit going through my head all afternoon after just listening to it once. Only the Dev could put out a track with that many vocal and instrumental layers and have it get stuck in your head instantly. I can't wait for the full meal!!

Wow, thats the best description of that second bit when it cuts in.
I was just like wtf! so bloody good!
Getting teary at it now.

My keyboardist came over to record and I was all excited to talk about the Addicted clips, esp. "A better idea" and he was just like "Eh, no big deal". I am dumbfounded. I guess I can't fathom how any Devy fans aren't just blown away by this. Maybe it struck me so hard because all I knew of Addicted was those cut and dry rehearsal clips, then BAM! "This is a better idea of how it sounds". Sign me up...I cannot wait for this album, and I still am in disbelief that my fave artist is so giving and generous to his fans. Pinch me.

Hey Dev,
I know addicted isn't coming out for some time, but do you have any idea what the "single" might be? I ask this because there is a shitty rock station where I live that plays really bland radio rock shit (ie. Nickelback), and I want to get them to play some of addicted since it will be a more...poppy...radio...metal type thing (?) and I want to turn people round these parts onto your tunes. That description is very wrong, but you get what I'm sayin, right? Something that radio rock listnenin people might get into. Not to insinuate that addicted will be bland radio rock of course, just want to spread the word whilst I spread muh cheeks(poopin).

I'm pretty sure Dev actually really likes Nickelback... don't quote me on that, though.

Anneke is just finishing up her own studio. So Dev, if you come to The Netherlands to record with her... I got a place where you can hang your hat ;)

And again, Devin is able to make me flabbergasted...

The 'A better idea' video is so fucking cool! I love the melancholic, psychedelic sounding first part (I guess it's the title song...)!

Ki is still in my head, but I will be looking forward to Addicted, too!

The first part somewhat reminds me of Grotus, and the second part somewhat reminds me of Deadhead.

Therefore this album will be classic.

Dude... that's *exactly* what I was thinking, re: Abba. I love Abba, and I don't give a shit what people think of that, lol :)

But when I heard it, I totally thought of Abba-esque layering and sonority to Anneke's voice.

This is going to be so good. Those two song snippets have been stuck in my head big time. Jesus, I can't wait.

this morning i logged into the forum just in time to be greated with "a better idea".

That sounds absolutely fantastic. 100% Devy. I have a feeling the album will have an "Almost Again" vibe and that is perfectly fine with me.

The title track in the sample fullfills the teasing on Ki with the short but sweet heavy parts.

I love Abba as well. Cool to see Dev fans are more open than people at most forums.

my father was quite the abba fan and he always told me it was the sound and what they did with it rather than the actual music that caught his interest.

Maybe i will have to finally check them out.
