Make-up is yet another thing I don't understand. God-awful shite. I do not understand how it is any way a good thing.

I can understand it as an art form. It's like re-painting a picture to promote the parts you like best.

Thing is, most of society uses it to cover up, whereas it works much better to accentuate.

^ agreed. Nothing is wrong with makeup if you enjoy wearing it. It's all a matter of personal preference, wear it if it makes you happy. If you don't like it, don't wear it. *shrug*

Just don't go here:

That's fugly.

To accentuate what, the unnaturally orange colour of your cheeks?!

I hate make-up and rarely if ever wear it. Foundation bollocks up my skin most of the time; I thought the point was that it hides imperfections, incidentally it also is the cause of them. I'll put on a bit of mascara but other than that I generally just think make-up is asshattery and I don't get it.

Bitter, bitter. :P

The specific POINT of the make-up is chosen by the user. Again, use the analogy given. If you took a painting and threw orange and blue over tan and white, it WOULD look like asshattery. But if you had a certain color on there, and you went over it and freshened and accentuated it, it looks pretty nice. But hey, you fish on your side of the lake, and I'll fish on mine.

Although I've been told there's a shitload of unhealthy germs on make-up, but Oprah has lied to me before, so I'm on the edge.

Amber should probably come speak on this...

I love as well when girls forget how naturally pale we Irish are. Luminous orange face meeting the pasty white neck always makes me laugh. :)

I saw a woman the other day.

Tango skin, white hair. It was just a little on the scary! :P

Make up. Well, I guess that's personal preference just as much as everything else. I'll admit I have a thing for eyeshadow (yay bright colours!) but anything else is usually horrid for me. I'm completely with Zyprexa when it vomes to foundation. Nasty stuff. Espeically when your face gets warm, because then it feels like you've got a melting face. Not nice.

And I kinda like that make up there DsD. Not for daily wear of course, but if you've got a pretty glam stage show going on it'd be pretty funky! xD

Make up does have a lot of chemicals and crap in. A lot of it is mostly harmless, but used in small dosages.(I think? Not sure on this one.) Over time, if you really cake it on it's not kind to your skin. I think to be honest it can age you quite a bit, rather than just taking good care of your natural skin.

Although I heard a rumor once that some top brand lipstick makers, actually have small amounts of lead in there products.

If anyone wants a funny programme to watch on this, theres a show by BBC called "Snog, Marry, Avoid." :P It's probably on youtube!

Actually it's +12 to AGI and +7 to INT, but has no SPI, so watch your mana reserves.

YES! EXACTLY!

It's the weirdest duality. They're either beautiful...

Or hideous...
