Talk about whatever you want to here, but stay correct

Oh god..fashion. first of all I went to this school...http://www.dashschool.org/ . Fashion is one of the strands. And we had intense "art" training all throughout. Whatever strand you went into. A lot of the fashion kids are insanely talented in fine arts and sculpture (considering we did the shit for like half of the fucking school day until senior year). Check this shit out. Most of the models are students from my graduating class...some model their own clothes.

About the Darth Vader pic:

Maybe he's at some kind of festival near the sea (possible one that you camp at), and he's another crazy guy who likes to dress up (you know the type...), but his campsite needs some more water, but they're slight health freaks, therefore he is using a britta filter thing to filter the water, and then pouring it into a larger bottle that can hold more water.

Haha, I love your hypothesis Aden! It makes perfect sense. Seriously, that's the best explanation ever.

Seeing as this is now a separate thread called "Fashion", I'm going to express my opinion on fashion. Which is that I think it's bollocks. I think this because I prefer to judge whether or not I want to know somebody based on their intellect and not on what they're wearing. I think it's shallow to base so much importance on externals. People I know who are into fashion tell me that a person's style gives a lot about their personality away, I disagree on the basis that you can only diversify your wardrobe to a certain extent. On the other hand, if you actually speak to somebody you'll find that there is no end to the information which you can use to determine whether or not you like them.

For example, I usually wear t-shirts which have something written on them, just so people can distinguish between them and know I'm not a dirty bugger wearing the same clothes every day. I wear baggy jeans because they're comfortable. All that says about me as a person is that I'm not interested in fashion, I like comfortable clothes and I wash regularly. Personally, when I see people who dye their hair a million different colours, with make-up that took them more than thirty seconds and clothes which they either paid a lot of money for or went out of their way to assemble, I get all sorts of preconceptions about them. I wonder if they have very important places to attend or if they're just trying so hard to compensate for the grey matter they have a tendency not to rely upon.

Or maybe I'm just not very good at the whole fashion malarkey and I'm bitter. You'd think I would be, considering I have three sisters.

I think clothes can say a lot about a person to be honest. Not just clothing though, the whole way a person stands, put things together, etc etc, piece together who you want to portray, whether you realise it or not. We all make judgements on people based upon how they look. It's a natural reaction. And clothing is just another point to judge someone on.

I don't give a toss about what I wear to be honest. I see something, I like it, I grab it. Simple as. I don't know how my personality portrays in my clothing, it probably says "Multiple personality disorder" or "someone who can't make up there bloody mind of anything." :P

I can understand why a lot of people think fashion is bullshit. A lot of it is. But when fashion ties into art and stuff too, it can get quite interesting. But them I am art nerd also.

I disagree on the basis that you can only diversify your wardrobe to a certain extent.

Says who? I don't understand how there is an extent to it? (I don't meant this agressively by the way. When someone says something can only be done upto a certain point, I also have to ask why.)

I hate all the fashion shit that gets caught into things like "Heat Magazine" for example. But I've seen some truely amazing fashion artistic pieces, with awesome concepts. However it's one of those you usually only know about if you go searching for it.

With my brief knowledge of fashion (studied it for a fortnight during foundation), I am under the impression that the elaborate over the top fantastical designs are by people with an artistic background, designers from highstreet chains will go to fashion shows where they will be shown, scrawl down what they see, then tone it the fuck down for public consumption. I also learnt that armour was inspired by fashion, and fashion was inspired by armour which was inspired by fashion which was inspir-OUROBOUROUS!!!!11!¬

I just throw jeans and hoodies on, so I have the fashion sense of an eccentric uncool dad at a disco.

I don't really get most visual art to be honest, fashion included.

Then I remember that to most people, the music I listen to is "just noise", so I guess it's just a case of each to their own.

Heehee - I'm into everything.

I do get annoyed though with the amount of pretentioness (Err? :D ) that gets included with a lot of art.

I know, don't worry. My aggression is henceforth reserved for those who will break my nose. I just think a wardrobe is always limited to the fashions which are available and (in most cases) acceptable. You're obliged to wear clothes in most countries, I'd be happier if I was allowed to go around completely naked. Therefore I'm restricted from expressing myself. Or if I were to wear assless chaps and boobless tops, it would be considered inappropriate whilst I think it's a perfectly reasonable liberty. We only consider that anatomy offensive because we've been told that it is. I disagree, and think that some things are wrong because society has come to accept them as wrong. Fat men who have tits are allowed to go around with no tops on. Why can't I?

Nudism ftw.

haha, fair point. I see what you mean. I guess I kinda have no limits, as my 'style' is "Lets see how many violent clothing pieces I can put on today" :D

Oh, I heard that you can go out naked, provided you have body paint, and its not in a sexual manner. Apperently. What determines as walking in a sexual manner, I'm not too sure. But that's what I heard.

Oh, I thought I;d just make sure I didnt sound aggressive. I've been misunderstood on the net so many times just for asking why. :P it's a little silly.

My aunt only ever wears clothes when she goes out. no lie. soon as she gets home the clothes are off again. Naked to varying degrees according to who the company is.

Fashion seems cool, sounds like Amber wears alot of bright and intense colors? That's awesome I envy people who have the creativity to do that. They're like canvases.

Geh, I dress the same every day. My only accessories are bobbypins and bad eyesight.

Someone explain to me the science of pink shirts on men. How is it that pink shirt = more manly than other men? How does that work? You look a tool, in my fashion senseless opinion. Enlighten me, somebody.

There is no enlightenment to be had. To some men, wearing pink shows you're "secure in your masculinity". Honestly I think it's just a way to get attention.

Of course. My shirts literally say I'm into Devin Townsend, Tool, Rush, Opeth... :D Band shirts are cool because sometimes people come up to you and strike up a conversation because they like your shirt. Or rather, the band on the shirt.*

Your clothes don't have to tell a life story or cry out for attention to let your personality come through a bit.

Oh and 9 times out of 10, that guy who wears the pink shirt, will have his collar popped. :? Those are usually the kind to wear pink.

*More times than I can count, if I'm wearing a Tool shirt or sweatshirt, someone notices and yells TOOOOOOOOOOL at me. If I didn't know they were referring to my clothes, I'd be pissed.
