Hmm... If it's one thing I've learned so far, is fashion is much more than what you think, but by the same hand, its exactly what you see too. It's kinda complex. It all depends at how you look at it. 90% of the most successful designers, actually have an art basis. There isn't really such a thing as fashion history or anything, because "fashion" wasn't really invented properly until around the 1900s. I think me also going into art before fashion, I can understand it a bit more.

The picture you showed me there, its Haute Couture, which really is the highest of the high designer wear. Obviously, its not meant to be worn for everyday, infact sometimes its never meant to ever be worn, its all about the concept. Something has to start the trend off for the year, (Although, its planned a year before. I already know the fashion trends for 2010. Not good at the moment, I might add.) so it kinda starts off there. The designs on the cat walk, then get toned down into what the masses can wear.

Theres a hell of a lot more I can add to it than that, but I can't imagine that many people are that interested

Oh, and dont get my started on the whole catwalk modelling industry. Although, partly to blame for todays current 'admirable' figure, is the discovery of the Pyramids!

BTW, the pink one isn't that bad. The grey one looks like a reverse lampshade and the "accordeon" part is really ugly, makes the model look like a trunk (a nice trunk though), but the pink one, not bad. Except that the pockets look a bit like a stack of napkin, it blends straight lines pretty well into a more traditional cloth.

Talking about that Amber, have you ever heard of the manga Five Star Stories ?
Except that it's great, expensive, hard to find, was started in 86 and may never be finished by the author, it also has a lot of character designs many of which have interesting style, blending a lot of stuff together, from Victorian/military clothes, to the 80's, as well as "plastic style" suits, traditional Japanese cloths, etc.
