Yeah, but I've been listening to Classical since year zero. I like Stravinsky, but I prefer Shostakovich, Bartok, or Prokofiev. Still, it was interesting to hear, most certainly!

Oh my.....you are just now hearing Infinity? I envy you....I will never forget when I first heard it. I was taking a three hour drive to pick up a custom BC Rich I ordered in '99. I hated it at first......On my way home I popped it in again and was hooked.

I can't find Stravinsky anywhere in my dumb little town!!! Best Buy has the worst classical selection ever, or at least the one we have here. Guess there is a road trip in my future........

The Dev wrote: I just pissed at Nickleback for the double entendre on their new record 'I'd come for you'...again, I was just being a baby. Of course, 10 minutes after I heard the song I did 900 interviews so....

Well, this should be good for some laughs at Nickelback's expense:

Still listening to Ki.
Still absolutely in love with it all.

Thanks again Dev for having the guts to say "Hell with it" and recording such a record.

My hero's hero is also one of my heroes. Heh heh. That's awesome. Watching Carl Sagans explaination of the 4th Dimension was kind of a big deal for me in many, many ways. It's amazing. The Gathering and that one segment were two main contributing factors in getting me away from the City/Alien state of mind I'd left myself in.

Along with your music Devin, and my own interpretations of it, I 've gotten to a much more open, and pleasant state of mind. Ziltoid and now Ki feel like two parts of the same big piece of my own ickle puzzle. Completely seperate to my experiences with SYL and DTB. Even though I hear and feel alot of the vibes from both bands in both albums, they feel for me to belong more with Devlab, The Hummer and Project EKO as almost this nucleus of positive energy that's singly responsible for broadening my horizons musically, spiritually and literally.

Heh heh, I do talk alot of wank.

But I have just thought of a question to wrap this puppy up.

I better throw you one of these real quick :offtopic:

There's probably a thread for this Dev but I'd like to ask about Devlab. It's the only album I can't get a real handle on regarding it's concept. All of your work tells me kind of my own little story to go along with what I'm hearing but Devlab just mesmerizes me. Was wondering if I could ask for just a little synopsis of your feelings about what the albums all about. It's one of my favourite albums and it would add an amazing Dynamic to it to know the story behind it. Presuming there is a story of course. Heh, sorry about that.

 I just threw this guy in cause I like his style.

I is ranty boy.

It's really quite difficult to find in physical format. I downloaded it because I actually did a paper on it in one of my music appreciation classes in college, but if I ever needed quick reference, I always went to this link:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bjX3oAwv ... playnext=1

It's really meant to be seen along with being listened to, since it was written as a ballet. It's really quite powerful in respect to the responses in the time that it was made (caused an actual f'in riot in france when it was first performed!), and also just the down right conflict towards the foundation of music itself- rhythm, time signatures, dis-harmonies. A fantastic piece of work.
