but you can always download it, so...yeah.

just rock!

I don't see any problem getting the whole deal, i mean i recently purchased Accelerated Evolution's special version altough i already have normal version. And that is what is probably going to happen with this box set too. I find it rare to find music that is so... fresh no matter how many times you listen it so it isn't a biggie to spend some hard earned cash to something you truly like.

Depends a bit on your financial situation...

But well, I'm going to look more into it when I get to work for the summer to see how many albums I can afford to buy. I have more than a couple on my list, Devin is very high in it though!

I'll probably buy both the CDs and the box set to be honest, I'm a sucker for collecting different versions of albums. Christ, I must have about three or four copies of At the Gates - Slaughter of the soul by now.

Nothing could stop me from being one of those wankers who gets to hear an album before official release.

DevDev, I was suitably impressed, it's everything I expected it to be as described from the earlier interviews about it, but still listening to it the first time threw so much more at me, I wasn't expecting what I heard. You've done well once again, turning our world on it's head and proving that, unlike too much other music, you CAN wrote an origional album and make it enjoyable.

None of this 'We're trying something different' where the band fails and recovers with a mimic of their most popular album later on, or the whole 'We're fucking angry again! I know we say this every album but we ARE! I am not sure it is even possible to be more pissed off!!' kinda bullshit where everything just ends up the same anyway (CoughSlipknot).
Just straight up something new, as what DevFans would come to expect, if not, they haven't been listening properly.

Though, not to sour anything, but I still prefer the original version of 'Soft'. Just me...

Thanks again bro. Hope to see you in Australia sometime in the future!

You stated nothing but fact there mate!

And on the final note: Don't we all want him to come to Aus? I mean, where the bloody hell is he?!?!*

*No insult intended :D Just a pun on an old tourist ad we had, Dev.

The acting is Contact is nauseating, but I keep putting it on...like the idea of it.

Big fan of Sagan books, the guys accent; really unusual. Are you a fan of P. K. Dick and A.C. Clarke by chance?

I'm ashamed to say I 'obtained' it early as well, but I'll still support my idol when it's really released. I have mixed feelings about the album right now. It's definitely not what I expected at all. But, that's Devin and that's why I love him. I must say, there is quite a depressing tone to the album, which is what caught me off guard. It's almost a total 180 from his other albums. It would be stupid to expect anything familiar from such a diverse artist as Dev, though.

My favorite track on the album is most definitely trainfire. Mostly cause the chorus has the aspect of Devin's music that I love most. I can't say many of the other tracks really hit MY* musical "G-Spot", but hey, there's no doubt this is great music and I will continue to give it a listen to see if it grows on me a bit more. It was just unrealistic of me to expect more songs like Stagnant, Life, Fluke or Solar Winds.

I'll say it again: even though the album didn't fit my particular tastes, I will still purchase it to support Devin in his future en devours that will most likely fit my particular tastes! :D

That is such an awesome expression. I am going to use that forever.

"Terminal" and "Lady Helen" hit my musical G-spot, no question. And the end of "Ki" (the song). Just perfect.

Yeah, the end of Ki starts to get catchy. I would have liked to see the whole song follow that through.

I think Addiction will really scratch where I itch from what Devin has said. Though, I do like deep lyrics. We'll see, I'm ultra amazed/siked to hear he is already almost done with another album.

I just had a worrying thought...

...I wonder if "honour" is going to be spelled right in the booklet? :patrol:

Generic roadrunner band, 1st album "I'm so angry because I live in a shitty neighbourhood RuUUUUUUUHHHHHR"
Same band, 4th album "I'm completely minted and my car cost more than most peoples' houses but I'm still really angry for no discernable REASOOOOOOOOON"

Man, just once I would like to see a band that started off singing really angsty songs, start singing about how great it is to be minted when they hit it big.

Just popping into say I really dig Ki. The natural, organic sound of the record is great. It's wonderfully different and yet not different at the same time.

I dig it.

Way to go champ.
