Why thank you :) I do indeed love my job, however I'm unfortunately still at university so I've had to turn down tours :'( At least I'm getting my name out there! And we get a big touring band through the student union bar at least once a month, so its not too bad.

Very stressful career, weak people (mentally mainly) need not apply!

Ones that have come through my student union venue: Sonic Boom Six, We Are Scientist, Fightstar, Scouting for Girls, The Twang, Funeral for a Friend, Sugababes, The Saturdays, Weetus... Erm *thinks* I think thats it for big name bands through uni. Oh, Taio Cruz, Lethal Bizzle, erm... I'm sure there's more heh, all the gigs blend into one! That and apparently I've worked with some big artists... but I've never heard of them

Outside of uni I'm potentially stage managering one of the smaller stages at Glastonbury this year and general stage crew for Bloodstock festival :D

Nice nice, I've heard of "Funeral For a Friend". Not a fan, but I know who they are.

Part-time Dollar General employeeeee and full-time student. Nothing is worse than working for the man. I see no difference in scanning grocery or wiping ass, it's service either way.

I agree totally with the statement that working for the man sucks. But as someone who is self-employed, I still work for the man. Except he changed his name to Internal Revenue Service, Social Security Administration and the Department of Health for the State of Florida. :patrol: Being able to take off days sounded like a good perk, but nobody does my work when I am gone so I don''t get paid. Totally one of those frying pan/fire deals. Unfortunately I can't quit either, however I CAN fake my own death. Totally weighing the pros and cons of that. :help:

Fort Myers, Florida. Where all of the state flags have have been removed and replaced with "FOR SALE" signs. Hell, even my cat is advertising for a roommate to cover the mortgage.

I was laid off on Sunday as the record store I've spent the past few years in closed, but all is well.
I work by contract for Nintendo in a promotional capacity on a relatively consistent irregular basis. So far they've sent me out to Seattle and Kansas City, as well as to Wondercon in San Francisco. I'll be in Chicago in a few weeks and Boston a few weeks later. Pretty darn cool if you ask me.

That's a shame, and a bit ironic since it was International Record Store Day last Saturday (or so I heard on the radio).
