FOR GODS SAKE WRITE ON THE BACK OF THE BOOKLET NOT THE FRONT

---There is no reason to ruin a fine looking front, even though it's your handwriting :P and don't do it on the case either as they always break..

Yeah, I also think it is the snare drum. And I don't even hear a kick 0o just something that sounds like rythmical accents on the snare.

Justification of bit-torrent (in limerick form)

Okay, so I downloaded Ki
What an album it turned out to be!
Heavy (but not brutal)
Restrained and yet beautiful
How many copies to buy? I think... three.

That's right... going for the triple-dip. One one from HDR, one locally when it comes out, and then one in the inevitable box-set. No, I'm not made of money; I'm just a self-employed (freelance!) dude in the midst of a flailing economy with a pair of two-year-old mouths to feed. But what the fuck, eh? There aren't many other artists whom I respect and admire enough to buy their album three times. Did I say many? I meant any.

Ki itself is truly beautiful. Far more restrained than I was expecting - and all the more haunting and awesome for it. I'm not going to bother giving a pointless track by track critique except to say that the last half of the title track sounds like parts of Infinity, Ziltoid and Terria all being played at once. The album as a whole is quite minimalist yet has a greater depth than is first apparent. I've listened to it many times but don't yet feel as if I've scratched the surface. It's definitely a grower - the best ones always are - but it's not difficult to get into, as say, Infinity on the first five or six listens (which still remains my favourite album from my 2000+ non-downloaded collection of CDs). I look forward to spending many long hours with Ki - as well as the three albums that will complete the Project.

You have outdone yourself once again sir; and I applaud you.

Ro

And by the way, whatever you may think about House, the fact remains that Hugh Laurie's American accent is damn near flawless.
(Although I'll admit you have a point about Grey's Anatomy.)

Lady Helen makes me all wet.

Very interested in knowing this aswell, Lady Helen is incredible... that intro. Funny though when the singing starts I always hear "I awoke in apple juice"

Hugh's accent is very good. He's a good actor, House is the polar opposite to his characters in Blackadder, well Prince Regent.

Ever tried watching both back to back? Confusing!

Yup...I awoke in apple juice.

No wait...

I awoke Iapetus

Coast, Gato, Ki, Lady Helen, Terminal, Demon League are in 'c'
a monday, trainfire, disruptr are in 'b'
heaven send and winter are in 'Bb'
quiet riot is in standard

same intervals as the c tuning, just everything down a step, and a step and a half.

Does that mean that "Bastard" is also just down a half step in B? I'd really love to learn that song.

Awesome that you're using different tunings too!

I was lucky enough to hear about the pre-order so as to get in on the initial 300. I've just now heard Winter on youtube, and it is so neat. So buttfucking melodic, I just can't get over it. Dev, with this level of awesome, you really didn't think people were going to be into this/want to buy it? I personally think that you have outdone yourself with this album, I don't find anything about it I have heard so far to be boring. I've been waiting for a somewhat mellow Dev album, so this is just fantastic.
