I do this thing where I keep a list of all the stuff I download throughout the year from best to worst, and buy the top five Cds and add them to my collection. I'll probably buy at least one of Devy's this year. I'm a pretty big SYL fan, so I have a feeling it will be "Deconstruction of a Hamburger". Unless there's a boxset...I think it would be pretty cool if more people did this, so go ahead and snatch this idea.

I might move it up to 10 albums this year, a lot of good stuff coming out and this year I'll be able to get a credit card :D

I downloaded it only cuz I wanted to listen to it so bad I'm gonna buy each induvidual cd like I have for all SYL's works and what solo work I could actually find in my hurtbag record store

as of now I own all the SYL cds AE infinity and biomech that i had since I was 9

its hard as fuck to find terria or synchestra i would have to special order them which ill prolly just order within the next few paychecks

as for religion i believe in the words of jesus not what Catholics have done to skew the words to accommodate their crusades and centuries of slaughtering innocent people.

Theres alot of lies out there you just have to live your life with a positive attitude avoid the child molesting priests and so called "christians" that beat their wives and children and hide behind the bible with a drink in their hand.

You have to take the world for what it is alot of hate and love all coming together in an orgy of creation god didnt want man to have it perfect he tests each and every one of us what we are capable in life and our struggles make our spirit grow and get stronger

ugh brain overload but seriously everyone take it slow dont go out of your way to spread negativity have your ups and downs its all apart of this great journey cuz we never really know until we die...

Actually, science even ties in with religion/philosophy in this case. The origin of life itself is imperfect. During the first moments of our universe, an unexpected imbalance between the particles in the "proto-soup" made it possible for small area's to become different. Over time these little differences started getting bigger which led to local concentrations, which led to stars and eventually to planets and living things in the end.

And about the aforementioned mystery nature/universe. Even atheistic physicists/astronomers are starting to see some kind of "blue print" in their latest research of the beginning of the universe. It's as if there's some kind of drive towards a certain goal in a way (for exampe in some chaos theory).
One thing that does fascinate many of them though is how to make the "jump" from atomic level (kind of deterministic) to the biological level (more about free will eventually). Explaining both of them separately goes kind of well. But unifying isn't as easy.

For example, you're reading this now. You told yourself to do so and your brain controls the body to do this activity. Now, the brain itself is built out of atoms and on a lower level quarks. These quarks spin in a certain way to make the brain read this. But the biggest problem for these scientists is this : WHY do they spin in a certain way to make reading possible? These particles don't have a free will themselves. So what orders them to do so? The brain itself? Hard, since it consists ITSELF of these of these quarks without a will. So it's a real chicken and egg situation and they don't seem to be able to get out of it immediately. Some even said that our physics and biology may need a total revolution to be able to answer questions as these. Or maybe we are all just following a predetermined path while just experiencing everything as if we actually choose anything :P

PS This post got a bit long and boring probably. And with English being my third language the sentences might have gotten incoherent on top of it all...

Pretty much, I buy what I can, based on ease of finding new, the creators need of income, and of course how good it was. I don't exactly have a whole lot of money though. I can buy Ki, City, Alien, and Synchestra, and probably more later, although there really isn't any point in depriving myself of Ziltoid, AE, Ocean Machine, and The New Black in the meantime, it's not as if downloading it deprives him of any income, on my part at least.

Guys,

in terms of religion:

Whatever gets you through... enjoy!

In terms of downloading:

Do whatever the heck you want...enjoy!

I'll be around in a few days...

play nice!

Dev

There really should be more musicians and artists such as yourself. You check in and respond with your fans and community as much as your can and give honest responses. Who could ask for more?

I'll get back on topic now. I buy all of the music and as much merch as I can. I don't make much of a living but all the money I can spare goes to music. It's hard to find good quality honest music these days and music such as yours should be supported as much as possible. I couldn't imagine not having your cd's to listen to at the end of a long day at work. So with that said I hope you plan on releasing packages. Such as t-shirt/poster/cd. I love stuff like that. As well as behind the music dvds of the recording procress. Put whatever tag you want on it(within reason) and I'll be sure to pick it up.

The older I got, the further from Spirituality I wandered until finally I began reading works on Physics, Astronomy, String Theory etc.

Fully expecting to be pushed further from the Spiritual world with this endeavour, it was quite a shock to find myself going the other direction. The greater the answers I find the more the enormity of that which is everything becomes. Each answer brings new questions. And there are so many similarities between such seemingly opposing entities that it would be silly to ignore the connection. I hope it's a positive one and that it leads to great things. On the other hand it could just be a collective need for justification of existence on behalf of the human race in general.

Is the universe real at all, or are we all on completly subjective journeys through time and space and all around us can be made or unmade by us?
The Avadhut Gida, and Chinese creation tales suggest that a person is a universe unto themself. String Theory suggests there is an infinite number of parallel worlds existing simultaneously. So the answer is... Maybe yeah.

Geyah! My head is full of nothing. Hawkings, Nietczhe and Jung shouting at each other with Shitstorm playing over them.
Damn my inabilty to verbalise my thoughts.

One thing though...
Make of it what you will.
But for the last while I've had the strangest feeling that this generation at the moment, so within the next 20 - 30 years or so at most, will be witness to something that will define for us a bit more about what we really are and are here for.

And now I sound like a loon.
No change there then. :help:

Still haven't downloaded it yet! Wooo!!!
As for you thinking that you are being a dinosaur too, you aren't!
You make music because you love it. No one could get angery about what you say.
Besides, look at Tool fans. Maynard is a totally dick and people still worship the ground he walks on.
Luckally you are a nice guy. There is nothing like meeting one of your idols and them being nice.
Never met you but, you would be. However I met Flea and Mikael Akerfeldt and were both great guys.

Keep the music comming. I will buy it!
And as it goes for being a bassist, DO IT!!! (that would seriously make my life)

As for religon I am a christian. I stick with my faith. I like were I am at.
I don't preach my beliefs even though I would recomend them.
The only thing that has kept me to my faith is when I recieved tongues. That was just kind of like god saying, "Hey! I am here!"
Forfilling to say the least.

Sorry for the Christian rant!
Thanks Dev. Keep it up!

yeah its all like the watchmaker's theory of existence

if theres no grand master to all creation would we know it? If you found a pocket watch in the middle of the desert you assume somebody had left it there? With all the gears and components its only natural to assume that someone had made this watch; it couldn't have just appeared there as a tree does in nature...

So goes with the theory of "god" were all here by chance? We're all just little gears in a big clock? We just appeared in the desert with all our our components? Our working bodies with our eyes ears nose and senses were all by chance? i dunno but i think there is some sort of master mind behind it all to explain it is beyond man we will never understand it in our physical forms

im not calling it fact or anything like dev said to each his own and however you perceive existence is up to you with me and my curious mind and in the past taking hallucinogenic drugs to expand my mind and this is what i came up with

thanks for reading my rambles

my spirituality since everyone is on the topic... mine i haven't figured out. all i do know is i cant stand the fanatical zellous of the whole "Christianity/satanism" thing i cant stand ether. where as Wicca on the other hand seems more like a hobby than a religion to me. but yea i think ill just stick with being a "chaotic good" (lol d&d) oh and Scientology is a joke. i guess i will have to look into the minority religions more..... or just not have a religion? and not being atheist ether.,.... maybe i should go build a cabin in the woods somewhere and become a hermit ? perhaps that will bring me closer to my spirituality. whatever it may turn out to be. well i dont know such is being a confused 20yo guy. i got more important things to worry about than getting closer to "god" like getting another job buying a car finding someone i can spend my life with, that kind of stuff. when i have my shit strait ill worry about becoming spiritually active.

dude, you're sweet :)
also, that's a very reasonable and cool standpoint you've got there regarding downloading and record sales. it's inspiring how seriously you take your artisitic motivation. no wonder so few people buy your stuff, since truth and integrity are simply not marketable in our current system. it's all the more awesome that you keep doing your thing! and however unknown you are in canada, every german metal head with a grain of brain in the skull celebrates every note you record.

oh, and we're just releasing our first record which would never have happened were it not for you (and us being angry teenagers getting a hold of city and totally getting hooked on your work back in the day). we're doing it without a label, on full personal risk (just for the art so say), so i'm kinda feeling where you're at.
well, erm, yeah, rest assured that you have an enormous influence. you're ahead of your time, so give the world a few years to catch up :)

ki is growing bigger every day!
