Hey everyone,

Just wanted to drop a quick post with you all regarding "Addicted".

This record is going to be fucking SICK! I've started learning half the album which Dev gave me and I love the fucking demos. I listen to the demos everyday not just to learn them but because I LOVE the songs. I can't wait to hear the finished product. I remember when Dev was talking about the idea of this album and how he was going to approach it. I got excited.... very excited. Now hearing it, learning it and jamming it with Dev, I can confirm that this album is going to have killer grooves, it'll be heavy at times and it's going to be VERY catchy in a very ORIGINAL and COOL way! This album, in my opinion, will appeal to a very wide audience for all the right reasons.

The way I see it... Dev doesn't need to be part of any club regarding catchy music, he just needs to write what he feels in a catchy way and it will be as original and as catchy as ANYTHING on the fucking planet. Again... This is my opinion but I firmly believe this and have heard it first hand. Be excited.... be very excited....

Best,

RVP

Seriously can't wait. Sounds like it'll be kinda like Accelerated Evolution, but... Different.

For some reason I keep envisioning a mix between Infinity and Synchestra when I think of this album.

me too

i am really liking dev's ambitions with DTP. a full encompassing and comprehensive collection of the music he's touched upon in his career, fully recognized to the point where it could be considered his true magnum opus(es?)

it really strikes me in a certain way to see an artist put an incredible amount of effort, devotion and heart into music like this. of course i am by no means comparing myself to mr. townsend but it really makes me feel good to be in the same minority of people who take what they do so, so seriously. i can almost understand the true love that dev puts into his passion of music

@Ryan

How do you feel about Synchestra and AE after all this time? Compared to Dev's other work, I mean.

The way you've described Addicted is sorta how I'd describe Ziltoid. How do you feel about the Ziltoid CD?

Ryan, Lemme be the first to say I am totally jealous of you for two reasons:

a) You get to jam with Devin

b) You have heard Addicted already

Anyway, welcome back RVP.....you are way too good to NOT play with Dev in some form.

Dan

sorry 'bout my ignorance but is there any chance that Gene plays in one of the 3 upcoming albums?

I will say one point of criticism from Ki here, I hope the drums are better produced this time. That was the weakest kick I've ever heard.

Don't be Ki-ing me outside of the designated thread!

Sorry, I didn't think mentioning a bad kick was much of a spoiler, and since what I said mostly pertained to how Addicted will be produced I thought it appropriate to say that here.

I know, it's not. My self-restraint is just meagre. Duris Maxwell is on drums for Ki, I think; maybe it was a preliminary mix for the promo releases? We'll see...
