i really want more tattoos, but i just keep putting it off. Mostly because im still trying to find a design that closely matches what i have in my head. Also, im trying to decide how i want my Devin tattoo done

What's your idea?

Ive designed my first tattoo recently...

Anything i ever get done will be my own design/idea... i'd NEVER walk in and pick something out

If im having something on my body for the rest of my life its gotta mean something to me, or be mine... even if the meaning is "That was a nice glass of coke on a sunny morning"... its still something

Ones that represent a significant time of my life...

The one ive made is just AP blended together, based around the Infinity symbol (coincidentally what Amber recently got done, lol) ... with some vine sorta things coming off it, and two lines of dots, one line with 4, the other with 6

Why?

The name of my ex-girlfriend who some of you have heard about from 'Just Plain Un-Awesome'...

I know what youre thinking, but dont worry, im not a complete retard who wants a portrait tattoo of the face of someone who i dont even know... its just to represent a significant era of my life, with a person who i really look up to...

I like it, but im not sure if people will think it looks girly... but, i dont care, its cool, i like it.. lol
I dont like tattoos that, dont... blend in, kinda thing. for example:

I describe them as looking like a sticker somebody has stuck on their arm

Not to sound like an old woman or anything aden, but perhaps you should wait on things for a while before getting a tattoo of your ex?

I mean, if you really want to then go for it, I can't stop ya I would just recommend leaving it for awhile, is all.

Yeah, i had a feeling it'd come across like that...

But don't worry, i am a relatively sane person, and its only dots, not like a massive picture of her face, lol

Like i said, i want my tattoos to represent a significant time of my life, and she has been one of them

Even if in the future i end up hating her, i wont regret the 'dots'... cus i know that it was still a main stage of my life

Its like writing a song, you write them at the time of feeling whatever for something... but you dont necesserily feel that way for the rest of your life, but you also dont "delete" the song off the CD you released 10 years ago, nor do you stop playing it live if its a fan favourite... its still there and you dont dislike it

I kinda feel a bit stupid for saying about the dots... just makes me seem even more like a child, taking something little over the top, but like i said, i feel im quite a sane person in terms of my thoughts so i know i wouldn't be making a mistake

I'm not 18 for another month yet, plus i doubt i'd get it done right away, so theres always time for me to think things over just incase it turns out i AM being a child caught up in my own world making big deals out of nothing, lol...

Heehee - I wasn't tryign to be condesending or anything like that, I don't think you're being a chiild, quite a few people do get things like it done, but quite a few people can regret it too. That's the only reason why I said are you sure? I'm not judging you or anything

But I think it looks cool. If it were me, I would have the dots inside the infinity, because I'm a symetrical feak. even though it wouldn't be fully symetrical. ( I really cant spell ): )

What's your idea?

Well i know its extremely unoriginal, but i want the most realistsic looking skull on my upper right arm. ive always loved skulls, so i gotta have one. Then right under that, i want one that looks like an evil face is coming out of my arm. And either the dTb or dTp logo on my left arm. Not sure which one, and im trying to think of a cool effect for it. Then i want tribal designs on my forearms, but thats an iffy one cause getting them on your lower arms kinda screws you up for a good job .

Aden, i also wont get any generic tattoos, i just need to find a design that closely resembles my ideas so the artist can just work with it to make it my own. i also would never get one of a girlfriend However i too got tattoos that represents a very important part of my life. People say "what if you get sick of those bands?" and i say probably wont happen, but if it does, then they represent a part of my life when they basically were my life.

Funny thing is im an extreme symmetrical freak. Thats why i only have tattoos on my legs, cause i got my first one on my right leg, so i needed to get one on my other. i kept putting off getting more, so now it looks kinda odd just having them on my legs

When I had my first tattoo done the artists were telling me some horror stories of people that had had their girl/boy friend's name tattooed on them. One person asked for a huge tattoo of their girlfriend's name on his neck- they tried to put him off- but he insisted, and she broke up with him. A girl had her boyfriend's name inked on her and when she walked out of the studio he didn't like it and dumped her. She went straight back in and had it covered up.

Yeah, i feel like i've probably come across as a complete retard now... but (hopefully) im not THAT stupid... i'd never get somebody's actual name.

Also, i have been thinking, and although i dont hate the idea of having something to represent that stage of my life with her, its the fact it was included in this 'AP' design (Aden Prescott)... which has given me second thoughts. I'd prefer to have something to represent it as a separate design, or included in something else less significant than my own initials

I'll probably end up using this design for my own artwork/solo projects n stuff too... so it'd be a bit stupid having a slight essence of her traced in everything i ever do, lol.

Again, i apolagise for coming across as a bit of a n00b

Personally, somehow, sometime, I'd be great to incorporate the bass symbol into a cover up tattoo, that I'm still trying to work out.
Bravo though, it's very stylistic and different from all the bass tattoos out there.
