Yes well, i was pretty interested in bluray ever since i first heard about it in 2002. im kind of a technology buff (im quite the audiophile, love my sacds!) so i spent a ton of money on my home theater. The way my movie collection built up tho, was if i were bored id go out and browse for a movie to watch that night, or if me and my buddies were hanging out, id go out and get a couple to choose from so we could have a pizza and a movie night. i just like to have a nice collection for when guests come over they have a nice variety to choose from :)

True, true. I'd consider myself an audiophile. I cannot stand poorly recorded music, or low quality audio files. I actually have a hard time listening to some bands older works simply because of the quality of the recording.

I was also interested in Blu Ray back then, after reading about it's sheer size and the power of the PS3 I was sold. When they finally released and there was that little HD DVD Vs Blu Ray war, I knew BR would come out on top. So many people said otherwise because of the codecs they use and what not. But I knew BR would end up the winner because of its support from the PS3, it started gaining more and more movie studios backing it, and it was supported(and owned) by basically every major Japanese electronics company...Aside from Toshiba lol.

Yes definately, im the same way. i tend to listen to newer stuff more for the sheer quality of the recording. All of my MP3s i rip i keep as lossless audio. i dont accept anything less than 320 kbps.
My dad listens to doo-wop and the quality is obviously horrible. i tell him that i can smell the mold

i kept telling people to go with bluray. i warned them that HD-DUD would go the way of the dodo. Most of them heeded my warning, but my brother in law spent all kinds of money on the stuff and now its all obsolete. Bluray is just amazing with its capabilities

I have over 60 Blu-rays myself. I'm in love with the quality! And I'm in love with Biert and Sab.

today I ordered:
Das Leben der Anderen (The lives of others) Blu-ray
Tori Amos - Little Earthquakes CD
The Prodigy - Their Law DVD
Resident Evil: Degeneration Blu-Ray
Der Untergang (The Downfall) extended cut DVD (I'm tired of waiting for a proper Blu-ray release and once it's released it's probably not even the extended cut)
Hellfighters DVD

That's a good one. Love Winter and China. So beautiful.
I have the piano music books to that album and Under The Pink. They're not perfectly accurate, but nice to have.

Degeneration is cool for a true RE fan. It has the same cheesy dialogue the first games were known for and has a similar setting.

I bought it on DVD though to watch at work on a portable DVD player :P

Picked up a new Randall RX-120DHS Head and Box Package the other week. Enough to keep me going for a couple of months till I get my rack gear sorted.

Have a Rocktron Xpression on the way, $400 AU secondhand, once again to keep me going until I get a TC Electronics...

And lastly looking at an ESP LTD FM-408 in the next few weeks. Its a tossup between that an the Ibanez RG 8 stringer. Have to play the ESP, the Ibanez was sweet though.

Games:
Sid Meier's Railroads
Tension
Brothers in Arms - Hells Highway (completely ruined by translation, as I noticed after installing it - gotta torrent the english version)

And "And the ass saw the angel" by Nick Cave

yup, I watched it a few months ago and actually like it more than the 3 Resident Evil movies. It is as cheesy as the old games but that is probaly part of the reason why I got it :D And I'm a bit of a fanboy

The 408 is nice, it plays and sounds good. But it's scale is too short for an 8 string. The Ibanez one has a little bit longer scale, and the neck is thinner, but they sound basically the same in the end due to having the same pickups and body style and all.
