Well ... as you can guess, I'm here to introduce myself, so here I go !
I'm a little 23yo french named MiKa, a little bit otaku, a little bit geeky, and I play the bass (I can't think of myself as a musicien though, I don't play well enough and I can't write a song ...)
I listen to all kind of music, Ayreon, Opeth, Dream Theater, Symphony X, To-Mera, Alain Caron, zero7, freak kitchen, béla fleck & the flecktones, necrophagist, jethro tull, verdi, chopin, rachmaninov, infectious grooves, the old dead tree, nightwish, anorexia nervosa ... to make it short, as long as there are instruments and it pleases my ears, I like it :p (I do like mainstream bands, I listen to slipknot, I like hybrid theory, and I think britney spears is a good pop singer, and I don't care about what people think about that
)The first time I heard Devins music, it was my sister who made me listen to it ... and I didn't like it (I often make mistakes, please pardon me
) some years later, I discovered Ayreon with the human equation and thought "wow, that's awesome" ... then, while watching the dvd and searching the internet/youtube for singers that were in that great album, I saw Devins part, and thought "wow, I like his way of thinking, gonna check him out", I listened to Ziltoid, and ... and ... couldn't sleep the following night and listened to it endlessly. Thinking it was so FULL ... I can't think of another word when I listen to Devins music, it's just so full, full of emotions, of noise, of beauty, of melodies, then I listened to older albums, and thought "it was not just luck, he really IS a genius" then I read that he had done Ziltoid alone and was ... like ... "where does he come from ? it can't be, he's not a genius, he's a freaking god"Finally, about a week ago, I saw a mail on facebook "Ki coming soon ! Check hevydevy !" and so did I come :p
And finally, it seems that a wonderful, heavenly masterpiece is coming this year, not one, not two, 4 albums incoming ... if it's only half as good as the teaser suggests, I think I'm gonna build a giant statue of The Dev and create a new church
My greatest regret about it : he shave his head, which is quite a crime ... he has to make it up with the greatest albums of the omniverse, which I'm sure he will
PS : my english is not perfect, but I'm trying my best, don't hesitate to hit me when I make mistakes
PPS : Oh, and I forgot, I'm a huge fan of Marco Hietala and Mike Akerfeldt :p
