I could well have a faulty memory but there was a series on TV a few years back saying that he was desperately keen to be a famous artist but he fell foul of some tough critics who rejected his work out of hand. He got a bit pissed off and caught up in politics instead.

Vast over-simplification but... makes you wonder indeed.

he applied to an art school, but they rejected him. horrible thought that he might just have become a painter instead of a dictator had he just gotten that place :/
whenever someone applies for art studies they should mention this.

"I'm sorry, we just can't accept you.."
"I HATE JEWS."
"You start next Monday."

I also don't believe in the idea of "Too Soon" when it comes to taking the piss, really... Load of bollocks. 28 year wait my ass!

It's more heartless than too soon. I mean she was a human being with a family. A little compassion for her family would be decent, but posting pictures like that puts you on a level only comparable to the trolls at 4chan...As much as I hate to be a dick about it. Regardless of news coverage or drama or anything, she was a human being with a family and I'm sure they are mourning her passing.

As cute as it is to play moral policeman, they can say whatever they want. Not everyone has to have your sense of humor.

aren't comments promoting racial and religious hatred illegal in your countries then?

Holocaust humour and jew-hating jokes would be a quick way to get a site closed down over here.

Ah, be a dick about it all you want. Not everyone's gonna have my sense of humour. My girlfriend is the only person I can talk to without censoring myself. I was trying to think of a decent way of putting this but there is none, really.. I couldn't really give two fucks of a microsecond of my time about Jade Goody. I'm sure her family are terribly upset, and I'm sure newspapers everywhere are distraught that they're going to have to find proper news that actually affect peoples lives back on the front page instead of 5-page pull-outs about the various shades of turquoise she could've picked for her 'something blue'.

Laughing at things you shouldn't makes the world brighter.

This forum has censorship levels that I liken to thought policing.

Remember a couple of weeks ago when Dunkelheit posted the picture of the vulture and the dying child? There was uproar. If somebody contextually called me a Mick or a Paddy or laughed about the deaths of my ancestors through famine or war, I'd concede defeat if it were funny. I know that nobody here will do it because too many people DO care (for some bizarre reason). So a harmless pseudo anti-Semitic quip has been made. I think that the only person who should take it personally is somebody who is directly affected and therefore deserves to be offended if they see fit. In that instance, they should stand up and say "Listen, that's out of line and I'm offended." Apologies will presumably be issued.

I mean seriously, what's the point in being such a prancy ninny about controversial things? Even with the twenty eight year rule considered (that is, something becomes ok to laugh about after twenty eight years), cancer is mainly associated with tumours; which have been around since human composite has been cellular. I think that everybody knows their fair share of people who have at some point been afflicted by it, and even died from it. However, I don't know Jade Goody and I think it's safe enough to assume that nobody else on this forum does. So why would anyone be offended by Leechmaster making the point that she looks like a conehead? Would it have been insulting if it had been a baldy Britney Spears when she went bat-shit insane?

I mostly lurk and don't usually contribute here. The reason why is revealed in the very first line of this post. All I'm trying to say is people, chill the fuck out and stop thinking everything is inappropriate. And feel free to direct any insults that you can at an eighteen year-old, Caucasian, Catholic teenage girl. I won't mind at all.

P.S.: Here is a propaganda picture from 17th Century England. I'm pretty sure I'm actually related to the model on the right.

I dont even know who Jade Goody is.

Are you saying you find no value in human life? I hate to say it, but you come off as if there is no point in valuing it.

I dont laugh at things about people who have recently died. So I take it a death in your family has never affected you negatively in any way? Entropy man, you honestly sound like the kind of people right now who wouldn't even care if one of your parents dropped dead or was killed. Call it extreme for me saying that but that's how you're coming off. All I was trying to say is show some damn respect towards those mourning her death. Is that really "playing the moral policeman" because I would rather show respect than laugh heartlessly about it?

Honestly, what the fuck kind of person laughs when others die in non-Darwin Awards ways?

I'm done explaining myself. You can go fuck yourself if you feel the need to call me "soft" or "overly moral". Sorry if I show a little more respect towards human life than you do, I for one dont think we are worthless meat bags here for nothing at all(which I know you do, entropy, I've seen your posts basically saying that).

We weren't laughing because she died. We were laughing because she looked like a cone-head.

Dude that is not cool. Britney Spears had a psychiatric condition.

Right, it's called "idiocy".

Also, she didnt die. So she's fair game in my book.

I wont make fun of someone with an actual mental disability though...I just find it kind of wrong.

So, if I had put that picture up at any stage since she'd be a baldy, it would've been fine cos she was alive?

Granted it was inevitable that she was going to die, it still would have been in rather bad taste.
