Talk about other artists here (even though they all rip off Meshuggah)

Jambi - Tool. This song is a bitch. I mean that in the best of ways.

Instrumental, I could attempt vocals, but I doubt they would turn out very well...

Jambi is an awesome song. I love the rhythms, the bass parts are awesomely crafted and the overall vibe of the song is one of sheer awesome! haha

Seems like vocals would be pretty hard - I can only imagine it would be painful too
Perhaps Linchpin there could help you out. I listened to your first take of Rational Gaze - sounds great. I like it! Keep it up

As for Jambi - probably one of my favorite Tool songs. So I'm not the only one who likes Tool here? :P
To toot my own horn a bit, I'm doing my best to learn the song. Bass-wise of course. It's coming along better than I thought it would. I particularly like the part at ~3:56 after that monster slide. Since I don't really play with a pick most of the time, it requires some three-finger action which is not how I usually play either lol. Kinda got three things against me- I've got a j-bass, sans the frets, and I'm foregoing the pick. But, it's coming along.

The song's still a bitch though.

Anyways, Bleed is a cool song too. The video rules.

Good lord, no....you aren't the only Tool fans here. I count myself amongst that number, emphatically!

Yea, Jambi is a bitch on guitar too, especially some of those rhythms.

As for Rational Gaze, its more finding a decent drum midi that has the bridge right. They always mess up the rhythms there with the kick drum.

Oh good! I couldn't imagine that Townsend fans wouldn't be into Tool as well 8) Hope they get on another album soon :D

I believe it! It'll come, it'll come. Give it time. It's hard not to be hard on yourself.
Now, can you replicate the video!?

Animals As Leader - Tempting Time

Think Bulb, but way more progressive and no crap vocals.

http://www.myspace.com/animalsasleaders

The guy behind Animals As Leaders: Tosin Abasi (again, take THAT Steve Vai!)

Damn, If I'd hear it without knowing who's playing I'd be sure it's Bulb (DFH drums won't help too, hur hur). Ace playing though, Abasi is ace as far as I managed to notice.
