When all 4 records in the DTP series are done, and the box set is released at the end (8 records including a dvd)

8 records?..what?...so I have to buy all the records twice...

What worried me was the box set comments. I don't really want to buy the 4 cds and then buy them again in a box set to get the extra tracks (although i probably would for devin!).

I'm sure it'll be taken into consideration about the fact that people will buy all 4 albums before the box.. Hell, the box has only been announced. There's been no details or specifics besides what it's likely to contain. It isn't coming until all 4 albums are done, so we're talking at least Spring of 2010. So what the hell is the point in thinking about it?? I'm sure when things become a little more concrete and things are really in full-flying motion Dev will post more details on the box. Until then, I'd say just forget about it and don't be worrying yourselves..

I'd like a box set, just so I can claim to own a box set.

I'm going to buy each album individually as soon as they're released. Then, when the box set finally comes out I'll give/sell the 4 records to whoever is interested and get the complete 8 cd set.

This way everybody wins.

I'm not exactly rolling in dough, but it'd be cool to have a totally, complete, unabridged Devin 4-CD and box set collection. Yeah I like to throw my money around, even though I'm jobless

There are few bands/artists that i would actually buy duplicate cds for. But Devin Townsend is one of them. But i think that he will probably think of everyone who has bought the cds when they originally came out. If he didn't, then i would think that he would release all 4 at once.
