I rocked my old school Ocean Machine hoodie from way back when today. Just for kicks. It's way too big, and with spring coming, I needed one last run before the sun pops out and I rock out the 'happy devin face' shirt!

HOWEVER, that would be cool. At least rep him in some way. And then all the pictures would go up here, or on the facebook page :D Perhaps a little far fetched, but I'm so into that.

p.s I never claimed not to be crazy, Amber
I'm just into thermals I guess. It's not always hot here, it's kind of mild -> warm in the summer though.

When Dev decides on the release date, we can make a "on the *REPLACE date*, everyone has to wear Devin Townsend tshirts" group and invite everyone from the Ki group and the devin page.

I don't have any Devy shirts at the mo (boo I suck), but I'd totally make one.

I've got that one, it rocks. Still one of my favourite t-shirts and one of my favourite gig memories.

I found out about the Glasgow gig the day before and ended up travelling through on my own, because I didn't have any friends that liked Devin at the time. Got absolutely plastered, because I was self conscious about sitting on my own in the pub before the gig, and met Devin while the first band were on (some shitty Slipknot/Mudvayne wannabe that slipped into obscurity if I recall correctly). A bit of a wasted opportunity though, as I was too drunk and socially inept to be capable of interesting conversation, and so ended up making a complete cunt of myself "HEY DUDE CAN I HAVE YOUR AUTOGRAPH I DON'T HAVE ANYTHING COOL TO SIGN, ONLY THIS FLYER BECAUSE I'M A IDIOT". Oh well, live and learn :D

On the plus side, I managed to just make the last train home :D

Hard to believe all of that was 8 years ago.

Ha yeah - it would have to be expertly coordinated, but I like the idea. Make one for sure! I know I'll still be celebrating even if there isn't a Devin Townsend day

Oh that's awesome! I don't think I've seen that before. You know what would really be cool... those shirts that say "Devy Metal" in big, bold print on the front. Awww yeeeeaaahhhh
Wow the preview.. where does one begin?! It sounded like everything from heavy heavy growls, to atmospheric clean guitar, to nice upbeat stuff. It was quite eclectic.

Well, my social ineptitudes at the time stopped me from seeing Zimmershole and DTB support Strapping in Dublin in either '03 or '05. I can't remember exactly as I've tried to erase it from my memory as one of my most grievous errors in judgement.

And there's been a few.

However you're black metal kitty fills me with joy.
For this I thank you good sir.

I have to say, I recently spent hours making a Devin Townsend mix for one of my good friends and he LOVED all of it. He's kind of a fairweather metal fan, and tends to listen to music along the lines of Captain Beefheart/The Beatles/John Lennon/Nirvana (as do I, Don Van Vliet is a genius !!), but he was completely floored by everything on the mix. Even though I hated breaking apart such fluid albums, it was definitely fun to try and make someone else appreciate some amazing music. I believe it can speak to everyone.

Anyway, that was kind of a round about way of saying count me in for the street team, Atlanta has your back Dev. I'm pretty sure there was another poster from Atl as well, and I know there are tons of people out here who would go apeshit if you came to town. Whenever you solidify the gameplan, I'm ready to roll.

The Dev wrote:Awesome guys!!! I'd get you some exclusive stuff for doing it...some music and material...

Talk about that in a bit...just need to wrap my head around a plan...

Webber was essential to me, because as a kid growing up in the 70's all those musicals (cliche as they were and as hard as they are to watch now) were written with VERY broad strokes of emotion....this is what HAPPY sounds and looks like, this is what SAD and ANGRY sounds and looks like, and as an 8 year old kid, it was very easy to relate to, and basically taught me an immense amount of translating those emotions into sound...West Side Story etc...

I personally think that Jesus Christ Superstar was a very emotional soundtrack, and when they made it, they were all in their 20s and pretty hungry...overdone? Yeah, for sure...but it definitely was good training.

I've got a lockdown in Chi-town. ;)

I like the idea of Devy Day. Like Lettuce I don't have any Devy Tshirts though. I do however, have a laser printer, a plotter and a heat press...and several blank T-shirts.....hmmmm. I believe I've asked about the copyright issues in another thread....does anyone else know how that would affect designing and making your own Devy shirt?

Oh, and my contribution to the whole street team thing is adding a note on my MySpace status about the new albums, with Dev's MySpace address on it. I would leaflet drop all my local cool hangouts, but I don't go to any. If I do, they're not cool, by definition.

It was on the myspace for about 2 hours, then it disappeared because it was not the right time to be posted yet and Dev has too much going on at the moment - I believe it will be up again in the next few days.
