I see one of your influences is Andrew Lloyd Webber?

I must say I can't stand his music....it seems to be one big cliche...I think he's someone that can write a book on being able to write music...very formulaic (not a good thing)
I'm someone that believes music is feeling....you're basic putting your heart onto tape/CD/Mp3 whatever, but Webber seems to just not do that....he does every musical cliche....

Sorry enough Webber bashing...just personal taste

I missed the tease though.....damnit

I'd love to do some promotional stuff here in Atlanta. I'm always at shows and live on a college campus. I'm on the Roadrunner Records street team thing right now but I'll switch my attention to Dev in a heartbeat.

Awesome guys!!! I'd get you some exclusive stuff for doing it...some music and material...

Talk about that in a bit...just need to wrap my head around a plan...

Webber was essential to me, because as a kid growing up in the 70's all those musicals (cliche as they were and as hard as they are to watch now) were written with VERY broad strokes of emotion....this is what HAPPY sounds and looks like, this is what SAD and ANGRY sounds and looks like, and as an 8 year old kid, it was very easy to relate to, and basically taught me an immense amount of translating those emotions into sound...West Side Story etc...

I personally think that Jesus Christ Superstar was a very emotional soundtrack, and when they made it, they were all in their 20s and pretty hungry...overdone? Yeah, for sure...but it definitely was good training.

Will the new albums get their own subforums on this board?

edit: I just realised this was quite a stupid question...

I think I may be the only person on this board from the Northwest of england, although there may be some people from Manchester who are hiding haha.

I'd happily help you out Devin. There's about 3 venues in my town now and two of them are getting quite popular. There's usually some kind of alternative/rock/metal night or gig I could spam Devy stuff at. Plus I don't mind travelling a short distance (i.e. Manchester, Liverpool, Stoke etc).

Apologies...

I'm trying to get some street teams together, what would be cool?

Working hard on about 8 projects (learning programs and gear, moving, family, cleaning my garage, and 3 albums, shit gets to work in about 4 days...c'mon brain, hang in there!)

going ki-razy!

(yowch...sorry)

I've been passing your name around, especially your Devlab and Hummer albums to all my friends and family. With the responses I've gotten, Portland would be a great spot for a street team. There are lots of people who are interested in music that is freely formed. With or without a street team, Portland is learning your name, one ear at a time!
