I really hope it doesn't come out that late... and I could've sworn Dev said it'd be out late spring or early summer. Seems appropriate for a nature-themed album.

Dev,

Just a quick question?? I was listening to Sleepwalking by Grotus and was wondering if theres a nod to grotus in The New Black? Can't wait for Ki to come out!! Hope your enjoying the process of making it! Sounds real interesting with your choice of drummer. Kudos for making a jump like that. Should be awesome!

He already answered this question in the booklet of TNB.

Yeah, he did. I hope it's out then too - all we can do now is cross our fingers and hope everything goes according to plan! :D

yes i shall eagerly await for this album to be released as well! :P on a side note, anyone have a PS3? i'm listening to Terria on it at the moment and letting the "Earth" visualization play with the music and i gotta say it's quite relaxing and very cool to watch as well!fits very well in my opinion :D

I've got a PS3 alright. I usually hook up my mp3 and let the visualiser do it's thing. After a party, 7am with a few close friends and some smoke watching the Earth with Devlab overlapping into The Hummer and the curtains closed. Best morning ever my friend. Just a bunch of people on a blanket talking about some crazy shit. The fact that a few illegal substances had been consumed by ourselves was purely coincidental I feel.

Happy fake baby and stolen pagan ritual days!

Since you are in a particularly open and talkative mood and someone said the A word (audiophile), is there ever going to be a chance of any of your material making it to a higher resolution format? I've asked several times and been ignored but will anything ever be remixed onto a DVD-A, SACD, BluRay disc or even wax?

With your penchant for enormous soundscapes, it seems like multi-channel or analogue would be a natural inclination whilst monkeying in the studio?

Did you ever check out the remastered surround mix of Still Life by Opeth? Even in a lossy format, the guitar tones soar through the soundstage and I have picked out harmonies and overdubs that 1000's of hrs of listening to the original CD never revealed.

Fuck it, I'll come right out with it... What would it cost me for you to consider a vinyl pressing of Terria?

i'd go and buy a turntable and amp just to be able to play that. indeed terria would be amazing on vinyl

scad would also be very nice.

Unsurprisingly, still no answer or acknoledgement of the fidelity question.... That wasn't a joke Dev. I would seriously consider booking your time.

Also, with the recent turmoil in the record industry, will Insideout still be putting out your releases in Canada? I think I read that they were gobbled up.

Furthermore, while I was auditioning speakers for my new theatre, I brought Terria and The New Black. Through some midrange NAD equipment and decent PSB speakers, many of the etherial soundscapes lurking in the background are significantly brought forward with the expanded soundstage that comes with better equipment. I pushed the limits (and eardrums of the employees) of the system I was listening to and discovered a very different Terria than what I am used to hearing through generic consumer electronics. Also, Almost Again was an eye opener aswell. With the speed of that song, some of the chaotic parts are muddied through traditional electronics. The separation brought new life to the guitar tones and harmonies that I always knew were there but couldn't quite differentiate.

For those of you unwilling or unable to drop thousands on audio equipment, I encourage you to at least bring some dev and audition a few speaker sets. You won't be disappointed.

That was a chickenshit response...

Trust me, I'm your #1 pusher is S/W Ontario. When do we get pics (and ordering info) for the guitars? You did a great job keeping it under wraps if they were actually at NAMM.

Any plans for more gigs?

In general....

Did NAMM make you want to play in front of people that want to see your music?

or did it put you off?

It doesnt sound like it was a very good experiance for him, although i doubt he could have felt very confident up there knowing they had only had 3 rehersals, if he was doing a real live show then he would be properly prepared and would be able to take command of the stage! Hopefully he will give it a few trys to see if he still enjoys the real deal. I know we all support him all the way and there are thousands of people who do also that havent found their way to this forum.
Keep at it Dev and dont let the bastards grind you down :)

Hey guys.
Lets not take advantage of Devs openness(is that even a word) on this forum. This isn't directed at anyone in particular and I don't mean to offend people. I've been a culprit too. I just wouldn't like this forum to turn into the kind of thing that got rid of him in the first place.(I coulda phrased that a whole lot better but meh) Just remember the less you hear from him the busier he probably is! :D On the other hand I could just be talking complete crap and seeing things that aren't really there. I did just sit through some shit 3d gorefest of a movie and feel violated!
