Garage band rocks :D Shame its only available for Mac though. I have Cubase, but I can't figure it out at all. I can work out how to make a midi or audio file, and how to set up the sound, but beyond that I get lost in all its programs and banks. Or something.
I'm hoping to get Reason from a friend of mine though, apperently that's pretty good.

EDIT: I just tried a demo of reason... Bloody hell, it's confusing. But I figured out how to make some form or noise on it at least. :D Seems to have a lot to it which is cool. Just need to learn what any of it means. Anyone have any experience with it?

Oh and Atari - Don't get my hopes up, haha.

If Reason is frightening ... stay away from Reaktor!! Sometimes I look on while my brother uses it, and it terrifies me!!!

Reason is awesome, the interface is really cool.

It's a pity that it doesn't let you record audio as well, but I suppose you can just use it from inside another program if that's an issue. (although I've not tried it myself)

If you find it confusing, my advice would be to start with an empty project, rather than opening up an existing one. If I recall correctly, by default it uses an existing project when you click "New", which is probably great when you're experienced with the program, but not so good when you're trying to learn how to use it. Peoples brains tend to shut down when they get confronted with something that complex when they're trying to learn how to use a new program!

The Kazoo interfaces to this point have been way to bulky. It's 96k signal can only be transferred with a 6 foot cable (max), making it super impractical for my use.

Make it workable dude!
