Best metal bands in the UK? Here? Either me or you need our ears checked ;)
I'll do a swapsie with you =D But, I'm not exactly abroad so...

I can't wait for Ki either. I'm excited to find out how different things will be on the new album.
Anyone know of particular influences on 'Ki'? Musical or otherwise?

Dev's mentioned Inside by Paul Horn quite a bit, and also Ravi Shankar. I'm guessing it's got influences from all over the place, as usual. :D

Wow, I've really been out of the loop on this stuff. I just found out about this though, and even though there isn't a whole lot of information on it yet, I seriously cannot wait!

Hells yeah there are some awesome ones if you like it heavy and groovy, checkout Malefice and Sylosis, im really good friends with these bands and so have to big them up as much as possible. But they rule, there's loads of others too.

As for a swapsie, hmmmm v tempting lol, but need to get away from Britain for a bit.

I think there is almost definately going to be Ravi Shankar influence here somewhere, even though i can't really stand it to be honest, I was working one day and the people I was working for had it on non stop, either Ravi's done an immensely annoying record or it all sucks, hmm not sure i need another listen to see if i am missing out. Any reccomendations of his albums from anyone at all would be much appreciated. Bring on Ki :D

Like everybody else in this forum, I'm fiending for some Dev and need this album now.

Just wondering if anybody knows anything about the expected release date? It's beginning to look more and more like 2008 is out of the question. Unless The Dev wants to give us the best christmas present ever.

So yeah, just wondering what kind of a time frame we'll be looking at.

Ok...update. :|

There's two albums. One is an EP.

The first album is called 'Ki' and has 14 songs.

A Monday
Coast
Disruptr
Gato Negro
(Purge)tory
Stand
Waveform
Heavens End
Dinosaurs!
Lady Helen
Ki
Addicted
Quiet Riot
Demon League

It's not a band thing. It's the 'me' show, starring...me. I had talked to both Gene and Ryan about the drums, but decided in the end to go with someone totally different, style wise as well as scene wise. The dude's name is Duris Maxwell.

Ki has a bit of everything... a real purge. Complete 72 minute disk.

The EP has been written at the same time and is just an absolute chaotic bizzare alien headfuck called 'Deconstruction Of A Cheeseburger' and is primarily electronic and guitar / Orchestra orieneted. (no drummer, not DFH tho...) I'm trying to get a grant to use a real orchestra and choir. It's fucked and awesome. Based on Karl Jungs collective unconcious and how anything (a cheeseburger?) can be traced back to the source. It will probably be released on the web. We're about to start working on a new site.

Been designing amps and guitars with dudes. I'll let the cat out of the bag soon. Some cool stuff is on the horizon.

No more producing for a while

Filming the whole process for a bonus disk, (editing myself with Final Cut express...ugly bastard) ...taught by the Meatball.

Getting PT8 next week.

I'll get you more info soon.'

The news is wonderful, and much appreciated. I'm go going to go wake up my brother just to tell him about these goings on

Thank you Devin.

There are a few 2009 releases I'm excited for, and Ki is definitely one of them.

Excellent update!

Great stuff Dev, sounds like your really doing whatever the hell you want to. I for one wouldn't want it any other way!

Both cds sound like a wet dream to me :)

The fact that you described Ki as "a real purge" is nice to hear...EPIC!

I take it 'Deconstruction Of A Cheeseburger' is a continuation on your ambient releases, ie no drums, just (headfuck) soundscapes?

ok, fellow forumers lets get googling on Duris Maxwell and Karl Jung

Oh my god, I'm so excited! :D
I really like the titles, they sounds different from your earlier. Dinosaurs! for example, just sounds weird but cool.

Also Devin, what happened to Synchronicity Freaks and The Way Home?
