It's pretty painless. You get whatever you ordered in a timely fashion, usually with a copy of the HDR newsletter, signed "Thanks! Tracy" with a little smily face.

Yes, I even got "Thanks Alexander! Tracy" + smiley :-D
And back in 2000 or so I even got a seasons greetings card signed by the Dev :)

Yeh that card was a really cool thing for them to do. You just don't expect to get a signed xmas card from Dev, it was a nice suprise.

lol, I didn't know that was Tracy until I started reading teh forumz. When I first got the note(it wasn't signed with her name), I thought Devy had hired in a monkey to write smileys to his customers. :guitar:

And I guess, deep inside, I was hoping it would be the Big D Himself who wrote me a special note. :)

I've recieved smileys for every order, even when I bought a SYL hoodie on Ebay..which was a surprise since I screwed up my paypal account and the payment got delayed like a month. (Thanks Tracy for your patience) 8)

Wow!! ^^ That's what's so cool about Dev and Tracy, they really do seem to care about fans. That's amazing, as almost no one goes the extra mile anymore. You're a lucky chap, Alex78.

As for Ki - I hope no one minds if I ask a couple stupid questions:
When did rumours of Ki surface? I'm assuming it's another full length studio album, yes? Is it going to be DTB, or just Big Townsend solo? Any clues as to a release date?

Apologies for all the questions, I'm still a total Dev noob so bear with me. :)

Browse through this thread if you've missed it, Dev has posted a few hints and teasers, first one in April. ;)

No rumours! Dev started it all ;)

Seems to be a full-length. No DTB, but Dev with a shitload of guest musicians (now here's some rumours, I've heard about RVP jamming with the Dev ;)).

Release date: when it's done.

If you go to Dev's profile and click "Search posts", you'll get a nice counter-chronological list of all his posts. Hell I'll even do it for you: search.php?author_id=17&sr=posts . You'll find all info we have in those.

Ah thanks you guys. I had wondered if there was perhaps another thread where Ki had been more thoroughly discussed. I will mine those links for information, thanks!

So cannot wait for this release, its probably my most anticipated release of the decade for me.

Oh yeah, ive also had those awesome personal messages from Tracy in the hevydevy letter, the awesome smiley face :D
Also had a christmas card and stickers, its all good and even a signed piccy of the main man which i was quite humbled by.

Anyhow im a pretty impatient person, but i can definately wait for this, going to be so serene and magic to listen to, i can tell, im guessing there will be similarities to Terria and Synchestra. Ive also heard this is going to be mostly instrumental, which although is pretty cool, i still believe that Devy's voice is superb and in metal especially, cannot be beaten, c'mon just listen to some of the more extreme Strapping songs, Detox for example when he was only 19yrs roughly, so powerful and i recently heard some metal band doing a cover of 'Oh My Fu**ing God'. To be fair it was pretty cool until the vocals kick in and its then that you realise 'holy shit this guy has a voice on him'. Not only a heart wrenching roar but a heartfelt singing voice.

So yeah......... cannot wait for this album, but really i can. Can't be too long now till the next update, think he started recording it in September.

Wow I hope so. One thing I've learned about musicians is to never trust them 100%... often things take longer than expected  But I don't doubt that Devy will deliver when it does come out.
I've decided to do all of my Devin shopping online this year! Otherwise, I'm just paying the record store, which I could care less about.

So for Christmas stocking stuffers this year, I'm thinking:

mom - Ocean Machine
Dad - Terria
Brother - Synchestra
epileptic cousin - hmm.... DevLab, Hummer

shoot, I'll hook people up with Dev for Hanukkah - doesn't matter to me if they like him or not... because they will, once they hear it :D

Right on brotha! I second that, everyone needs to introduce someone to the magical world of Devymetal, make it a christmas to do!

I really believe that it would be cool though if Devin were to come out with something completely different this time, as his music is always changing and advancing, i reckon he's learnt loads producing all these bands in his spare time. Going to be so cool no matter what it is really. (he says)

You mean sista

There are so few artists who keep making good stuff time after time, you know? So yes, I do think that whatever comes out will be cool and original - I just don't know how much longer I can wait 8)

It's going to be a very VERY Devy Christmas!
